Daily number of rounds of Hare Krishna mahamantra.
After many years of sporatic chanting-sometimes 1 round, other times 6 or 8, I'm now chanting a minimum of 6 rounds per day. I won't be satisfied until I get back to 16.
When, where and how did you come into contact with the Hare Krishna Movement?
1974. First, I purchased The Bhagavad-gita As It Is. After reading it, I wrote to L.A. for more info. and was given the address of the temple in Evanston,IL. Began visiting the temple on Sundays and after a few months was ready to join.
Please describe yourself so that other like minded devotees can find you.
I operate a simple lawn care business. I have 2 teenage sons and an elderly mother that I take care of. I left ISKCON shortly after Srila Prabhupada's disappearance, but continue to read and chant and pray that Krsna gives me another chance to engage in devotional service.
What are your expectations from this community?
To engage in service to Krsna's devotees.

Alachua is a temple with a lot of land and a large garden. There is maybee 15-20 devotees who live on the temple land and most everyone else who is something like 700-800 live in the surrounding area. most people moved here because of the KC school which is very good.
Today is the very first day of the rest of my life.
This is the beginning of a new day.
I can waste it ... or use it for Spreading KC.
But what I do today is important,
because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
