When I first joined ISKCON many many years ago, I never heard of a Krishna Monk only Sannyasi. So what exactly is the difference between the two? Thanks

All glory to the inquiry What is a HARE KRISHNA Munk, my opinion is all who follow the four regs. & chant the Holy Names of God as their religion, but by the stricter seance of the meaning (those who are engaged (centPerCent) I'm the daily dutys of direct services of the (ashrama)temple & the deities & the devotees 24/7/365. A Sinyahsins is the most highly (faverd) monk said to be Rahdas pet gaming the devotees. A Sinyahsin is sinchualy renounced however, the (in-house Timple Bhaktee ) would be the shortest most accorded answer I feel!
Hare Krishna. Thanks to all for your comments. In the USA, there are some ISKCON spiritually advanced male devotee preachers who call themselves "Krishna Monks". They don't carry a stick so perhaps they are bramacharis. One of the Krishna Monks in my area is constantly traveling and is constantly going to different Harinamas. When this Krishna Monk posts his "schedule" on facebook I always turn green with envy because he is always going to Harinama.
I love Harinam!!! Unfortunately, my back problems and work problems sometimes interfere with my going to Harinama . I was sort of joking about being green with envy. I don't think I could stand traveling all of the time.
Question not fully understood - never heard of Krsna Monk.
A sanyasi in the traditional form and a sanyasi of ISKCON, the basic difference is the philosophy of yukta vairagya. Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraawati Thakur was the first sanyasi to use motor transport and modern amenities to preach. A sanyaasi in the strict definition of the term is supposed to stay away from world and worldly things and only think of Krsna and preach about Krsna.
Yukta vairagya is the principle of using everything in the service of the lord, neither rejecting anything or hankering for anything. So if someone uses a mike to preach or sing kirtan, but is equally satisfied and continues to sing kirtan with the same sincerity in the absence of a mike, that is yukta vairagya. The presence or absence of a material thing does not affect the sadhana of the person. He neither rejects the mike saying it is a modern amenity, so not to be used, nor is affected when the mike is not there and he has to sing/ preach without the mike. That is the principle of yukta vairagya followed by sanyasis of the Gaudiya Vaishnava line.
I cannot think what else you may mean. Pls clarify.
krishna monk is devotee of krishna, who has taken up the decision to live at lotus feet of lord krishna by accepting that krishna is only suprreme personality of god head...
but wer as a sanyasi is the person who has left all the worldly connections and he neither laughs at his happiness nor cries at this sufferrings. he only stays neutral he is at the stage of saluvation he doesnt need spiritual exercises to workout toreach the parabrahma(i.e., the supereme soul, which has no shape,no size,no color,no oder,it is just a light with the highest intensity and its the sound with largest frequency which multiplies to the square of infinity).
as we all know der is first bramchari (wer he gets educated and gains the strength to understand and accept the responsibilites,by this he will accomplidh to fullfill the guru runam),second is grihastha(wer he will get married to a person who understand and accept him with all legal and traditional ways with heart and soul and dey both lead life together and perform all the ritious rights by this he has complete's his vaidhika runam as what he had do and he takes forward his dynasty by give birth to the next generation by this he complete's his pitru runam)third is the vanaprastha(wer he will start giving up all his responsibilities to his son he get relived from the materialistic duties and he and with his wife they start to live a sattvika , tapasi jeevana i.e., living like a saint ,far away from all the distractions except god)the last one is sannyasi (wer he has nothing more else than reaching parabramha the supreme,he goes far away from all the materialistic needs and comforts and reach god)..
dharma shastra says u cant become a sannyasi with crossing the grihasta and vanprastha ahramas..if u do so u cant fullfill ur vaidhika runam and pitru runam...only the great people who are karna janmas like adi shankaracharya or vivekananda can go not a normal folk...
hopefully u have understood the difference ,
this is my opinion and explaination ,if anymore quires u can contact me.

Thats nice to hear about the Krishna Monk in your area.
Why turn green with envy. Why not stay pink and participate in the Harinams? :))
Just somehow drag yourself to the Harinam and you will never regret going on Harinam, even if you started out feeling blue !!
