We can see, many socalled brahmins are wearing tripundra or vibhuthi..
In the world one should not look at a brāhmaṇa who is not a devotee of Viṣṇu as (one does not look at) a candala. Viṣṇu's devotee, even if he is outside the castes, purifies the three worlds. [Padma Purana Uttara Khanda Chapter 224 Verse 53.]
So, can we say these brahmins who are wearing tripundra or vibhuthi , are not genuine brahmins..
We can see many advaitin and smartha brahmins preaching bhagavatham.
Why then Prabhupada often criticize advaitins as mayavadis ?

It's interesting to consider the distinction between ritual and devotion in the context of Brahmin identity. The verse from the Padma Purana emphasizes the importance of being a devotee of Vishnu over mere adherence to caste. This raises questions about the authenticity of those who wear tundra or 2 player games vibhuthi but lack genuine devotion. Perhaps we should focus more on the spiritual essence rather than external symbols.
Padmapurana gives importance to Religious markings also..

There is no advantage in making such statements.
Why then Prabhupada often criticize advaitins as mayavadis ?
Because they mistakenly consider the transcendental personality of Sri Krsna as non-transcendental.
