Dear Devotees

Why do jains believe that Lord Krishna went to hell. I am sorry as I don't want to hurt any devotee but I am curious about it as the Jain people say this. Pls clear my doubt and enlighten me .

The logical thing to do is to ask those Jain people, why they believe so.

I am sorry as I don't want to hurt any devotee

Then do not ask such questions in vaishnava forums.

Pls clear my doubt and enlighten me .

Please read Bhagavad Gita As it is

"King Arhat, being bewildered, gave up the Vedic principles, which are free from risk, and concocted a new system of religion opposed to the Vedas. That was the beginning of the Jain dharma. Many other so-called religions followed this atheistic system."

     Hare Krsna Prabhu,

    PAMHO.

YOu are young, and your shradha is right now komal shradha, means your faith is not firmed up. You are going everywhere, except where directed. What is your purpose? YOu want to make progress in spirituality or you are still trying to find which is the right path? Nothing wrong in either option. What I am trying to say is - where do you get time to delve into all this? Have you read all books of Srila Prabhupada? No na. You are reading everything except what is recommended.

To answer your question, I have not heard that jainism says that Krsna went to hell. I have a friend who is a Jain. She once told me that it is mentioned in their text that after the Kurukshetra war, Krsna took to Jainism. Anyways, none of our scriptures say this. And we have enough literature, Srimad Bhagawad Gita, Srimad Bhagawatam, Chaitanya Charitamrta, commentaries of various acharyas. Nowhere it is mentioned what you are saying.

Like Gaurav prabhu mentioned, Krsna is free to go anywhere, He cannot be sent anywhere. Even He goes to hell, it is like President of India visiting jail inmates on some day. They are above the law.

The net message I want to give you is - doubting thomases never achieve anything. Question/ doubt, until you find your true calling. Once found, stick to the process, whatever you have chosen for lifetime, if you want to achieve any progress in spiritual life.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

  • He can go whereever he likes to!!

He can't be forced to go anywhere..

  • Best to ask them.

Vedanta sutra 2.2.33-36 refutes Jainism. See Govinda Bhasya.
