For example: many New Age gurus are fond of promoting the philosophy of "Do not follow anyone." They preach,"Every Guru in the modern age is corrupt and a cheat, and therefore, reject everyone, and follow your own inner voice, follow your own mind. If you are sincere, God will guide you. Of course, this kind of preaching appeals a lot to many people who anyway do not want to follow anyone. And many people do follow such philosophers!
Oops! If no one is to be followed, then why follow them?
It is not possible to not follow anyone. Man is a social animal, and he must be influenced by social ideas. No one is thoughtful by birth. It is the society and the previous life impressions (sanskar) that make up the mental psyche of a man.
By promoting the concept of do not follow anyone, these New Age Gurus are in fact cheating people. They are making people follow two authorities: their own mind as well as they themselves.
This is something bewildering, since if you follow the Scriptures wholeheartedly, you are following only one authority- the scriptures. But the preachings of the New Age Gurus paradoxically make you follow two authorities! Thus, people are not only robbed of their internal freedom by becoming slaves of their own mind, but also lose their external freedom by foolishly following "Do not follow anyone!," or in other words, "Just Follow Me!"

There is nothing "new" about such new age people. Such imposters have always been there. They were there during times of Srila Prabhupada, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, Srila Bhakti Vinod thakur even during Goswamis and Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Nothing new about it. Such imposters are there in other fields also, people who sell fake brands, fake medicines, fake certificates, fake identities etc. This will continue. But it will not affect sincere seekers and practitioners of true path of God in any/every authentic religion.

that is not hurting in kaliyuga much, what hurting is, many so called gurus say disciple is mine and but his problems arent mine, he can donate money n serve me but if he has any problems, health issues , financial issues thats not my problem.
Those who do not follow anyone, follow their own minds, and those who follow their own minds, become slaves of lust, anger and greed. As the saying goes, "An empty mind is the devil's workshop."
