Dear Calpana Mataji here http://ebooks.iskcondesiretree.info/index.php?q=f&f=%2Fpdf%2F00... You can download books of Srila Prabhupada and start reading from Bhagavad Gita As It Is.

In order to accept some path first we have to know what is that, isn't it?!

For example, it so happened that first I read this Book and then only accepted Krishna Consciousness.

And yes, this book is very special in order to understand it one should follow 4 regulative principles of human life and chant minimum 16 rounds as Rahul Prabhu told above.

    Principles:

    1. No meat eating including fish, eggs, onions and garlic, coffee and tea.

    2. No alcohol and other drugs

    3. No illicit sex

    4. No gambling

If we follow these rules our mind will be purified.

Dear Kalpna Mataji,  Hare Krsna.   Welcome to the Hare Krsna Movement

that is spreading the glories of the Lord all over the world.

There are many who are competent to give diksa ,   you need only to search them out.

At the ISKCON temples you will meet with many who can help you to develop

your desire to serve Krsna more and more.

We have many public programs and training seminars  that the devotees organize and offer freely.

One such seminar deals with this subject and is regularly given at our main centers around India and abroad.

It is not a difficult subject and is dealt with in our books like Science of self realization by Srila Prabhupada.

Of course we encourage you to come to the temple and regularly hear the classes etc.

Then gradually you will feel confident about choosing a  diksa guru.

This is always best done in an association of pure devotees.

Wishing you well .   Hare Krsna.

    Krsna will help you.

and here are lectures of Gurus http://audio.iskcondesiretree.info/index.php?q=f&f=%2F02_-_ISKC...

Our Guru is one who inspires us to serve and to love God. There might many nice and pure souls as like there are many fathers each different from each other. But only one would be our father. So our Guru is one who helps us to love Krishna and become happy.

So please hear lectures and Your heart will tell to You who is Your spiritual father Guide.

Also here Devotees will be happy to help You answering to Your queries!

        This is a nice link.

Is there any other link where it's clearly mentioned about ISKCON guru's currently residing in India only. I understand they keep traveling. But for eg Radhanath Swami is preaching mostly in Mumbai ISKCON and nearby cities like pune, Nashik etc. A similar list would be ideal.

"His dedicated efforts in congregation preaching developed the Sri Sri Radha Gopinath Mandir at Chowpatty, Bombay and the ISKCON Belgaum temple. Under his auspices, preaching programmes are developing in Kolhapur, Nasik, and Nigidi. "

        Thanks.

        Jai shree Krishna

maybe this web site will be helpful for You dear Mataji http://iskconleaders.com

His Holiness Radhanath Swami Maharaja also travels a lot mostly to US and UK, also Italy.

But in India he comes at the time of yatras like Kartik Yatra...

Almost all Guru Maharajas travel and do not stay in one place. Maybe His Holiness Mahanidhi Swami Maharaja but i am not sure.

Because Sannyasa means one should go out and preach as like Narada Muni our Param Guru.

And they do it out of compassion.

For example most of them even do not go for Puri for grand Ratha Yatra or go to Vrindavan for Kartik month but celebrate these Holy Days out side India so that other people also get chance to participate in these Holy Festivals being in their own countries.
