    is it mentioned somewhere that ginger is a satvic eatable...? if yes plz tell me the source

      There are three authorities: Guru, Sadhu and Shastra.

      The spices commonly used in sattvic cooking are turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, coriander, fennel (saunf) and cardamom.

      In this case I have to trust the first two. Perhaps someone else can nail down the third.

    You can't OD on ginger. It's an amazing spice that has all kinds of wonderful curative powers. It balances all three doshas and brings great vitality and good digestion. Both ginger and turmeric should go in all subjis. Ginger is satvic. I love ginger.

  • no i dont think that ginger comes in tamsic category... when u take onion and garlic a pungent odour is there frm ur mouth but oppositeto that ginger gives relief and no bad odour... though it should not b taken more than required qty
