SYNONYMS

avrtam--covered; jnanam--pure consciousness; etena--by this; jnaninah--of the knower; nitya-vairina--eternal enemy; kama-rupena--in the form of lust; kaunteya--O son of Kunti; duspurena--never to be satisfied; analena--by the fire; ca--also.

 

TRANSLATION

Thus, a man's pure consciousness is covered by his eternal enemy in the form of lust, which is never satisfied and which burns like fire.

Devotees in Kolkata, India headed by GBC Radhanath Swami, have purchased Srila Prabhupada’s birthplace and plan to develop it as a beautiful memorial to the ISKCON founder Acharya. Fifteen years ago, devotees acquired a house and land in the Tollygunge suburb of Kolkata that had belonged to Prabhupada’s maternal grandfather. But the exact site where Prabhupada was born on September 1st, 1896 remained elusive until now.

Mother Lore - Mother of Srila Tamal Krishna Goswami


Dear Devotees, Mother Lore, the mother of Srila Tamal Krishna Goswami left her body most auspiciously at 1:08 pm on 30 April 2013 at Hare Krishna Dham of Houston.


Surrounded by devotees chanting the Holy Name, Sri Giriraj sila resting on her forehead, with Srila Prabhupada's and Srila Tamal Krishna Goswami's picture on her chest and holding Nrsimha Sila with both hands she left this world most peacefully without any diificulty.

This year in India I had my most ecstatic time. First off, usually I don't distribute books in Mayapur during the festival, because there's so much going on. But upon seeing so many book distributors this year, I got inspired to distribute.


Interesting: there were so many devotees, so what I found was that I had to look for the people who didn't have beadbags and didn't wear dhotis and kurtas. They had to be wearing pants and shirt and no tilak.
