Children's Krsna Book

2514903620?profile=original

You will all be happy to know that BBT Bombay has reprinted these classic volumes of children's KRSNA Book and they are a very nice quality. For some unknown reason, some overintelligent person there introduced a few additions of unconnected pretty pictures, which can be easily corrected next printing. But the book still stands on its own as very endearing for our children growing up in Krishna consciousness. Because of ill health, I was unable to do it myself, and I am grateful for Gopal Krishn

Subway Saviors by Muralivadaka Dasa

Subway Saviors by Muralivadaka Dasa

Muralivadaka Dasa
At Christmastime these kids go underground to give the gift of love.

The screeching of the subway car announces our arrival at the next station. "Gentlemen, this is it!" I say, lifting a box of Back to Godhead magazines as I get up. The subway grinds to a halt, and seven young men surge toward the sliding doors. As we step onto the platform, a disembodied voice crackles: "Thirty-fourth Street-Harold Square Macy's. Have a nice holiday."

"Is this where we distribut

Thought Of The Day

So we should always remember this, that Krsna does not require our service, but if we give some service to Krsna, that is our benefit. This is the formula. Don't think that Krsna is very much obliged. But He feels obliged. Why? Avidusah. We are all fools and rascals. We are thinking that we are giving some service. No. We cannot give any. We are so insignificant that we cannot. He's unlimited, and we are very, very limited, tiny. But still, just the small child gives something to the father... I

An internal battle .......................Nectarean Mellows

We are all in a war against Maya and what is the war against Maya? - it’s the war against the asuras within our heart. Yes? It’s an internal battle, its Kurushetra going on within all of us. If we are not fighting that means we have surrendered to the Kurus. Arjuna didn't want to fight, just let things be peaceful but then Duryodhana and the kurus would just continue to reign. So, within o

Real advancement means knowing God

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

The Krishna consciousness movement is meant to give perfect knowledge to human society. By such knowledge one can understand who he is, who God is, what the material world is, why we have come here, why we must undergo so much tribulation and misery, and why we have to die. Of course, no one wants to die, but death will come. No one wants to become an old man, but still old age comes. No one wants to suffer from disease,

Discovering the Self

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

Who are you? Are you your body? Or your mind? Or are you something higher? Do you know who you are, or do you merely think you know? And does it really matter? Our materialistic society, with its unenlightened leadership, has made it virtually taboo to inquire into our real, higher self. Instead we use our valuable time maintaining, decorating, and pampering the body for its own sake. Might there be an alternative?

Information & Knowledge (realizations)

In life, it is important to differentiate between INFORMATION i.e. simple facts and data that one can get from anywhere including others, media and Internet, and KNOWLEDGE i.e. the understanding of the importance and implementation of that Information that can only be achieved through one's own wisdom and experience, or that of a qualified teacher. And finally, there is Him, Whom after knowing, nothing further remains to be known... :)

The Great Saint Tukarama

2514903118?profile=original

The great Vaisnava saint, Tukarama, was born in Deha, Maharashtra in 1608. Tukarama Acaraya became very famous in the Maharashtra province, and he spread the sankirtan movement all over the provence.” [ CC Madhya 9.282 purport ] Tukarama appeared much after Lord Caitanya, but in his writings states that one day Mahaprabhu appeared to him in a

Thought Of The Day

Who are conditioned souls? Those who have got this material body. They are called conditioned souls. Because this material body means you have to live under certain conditions. Just like I require fan. Why? Because I have been put into the condition of warm. I cannot tolerate it, but I have to live. Similarly severe cold. I do not want it, but I have to live. I do not want set fire at home, but there is fire, and there is fire brigade. In this way, in every step of our life we are always in dang

Dhama Seva Goloka Seva

The sastras proclaim three avenues of relation and purification for the jiva; guru seva, gau(cow) seva and dhama seva. Of course the yuga-dharma, the harinama, is the foundation activity for all, supporting the other three that have unique characteristics and varying spiritual potencies.

The guru seva is the first prescription given in the Vedas and every devotional work is obviously done as a credit to guru, and sometimes sadly in this field there is possibility of offense. Gau seva, cow pro

Krsna – The Reservoir of Pleasure

Hare Krsna

Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

How can we find pleasure that lasts?

Krsna - A Reservoir of Pleasure

Krsna this sound is transcendental. Krsna means the highest pleasure. Each of us, every living being, seeks pleasure. But we do not know how to seek pleasure perfectly. With a materialistic concept of life, we are frustrated at every step in satisfying our desire for pleasure, because we have no information regarding the real level

WHY DO DEVOTEES TAKE SHELTER OF RADHARANI?

Hare Krsna

radha krishna's internal potency“To perform devotional service means to follow in the footsteps of Rādhārānī, and devotees in Vrindāvana put themselves under the care of Rādhārānī in order to achieve perfection in their devotional service. In other words, devotional service is not an activity of the material world; it is directly under the control of Rādhārānī. In the Bhagavad-gītā it is confirmed

Thought Of The Day

As soon as. As soon as one tries to become independent without serving Krsna, that means he is in maya. He's in maya. Immediately maya is there. Just like as soon as you become a criminal, a thief, immediately you are under the jurisdiction of the police, immediately, without the... You may hide yourself for time being, but immediately you have become criminal. Similarly, as soon as one is not Krsna conscious, he's immediately a criminal, punishable. Therefore Krsna said, na mam duskrtino mudhah
