प्राप्ते सन्निहिते मरने, नहि नहि रक्षति ड्ड्कृञ्करणे॥१॥

हिन्दी:
भज गोविन्दं भज गोविन्दं, गोविन्दं भज मूढ़मते।
त्राण नहीं सन्निकट मरण से, अपर सूत्र तज मूढ़मते॥१॥

अर्थ:
हे मूर्ख, भगवान का बार-बार भजन कर। मृत्यु के समीप आने पर सीखी हुई सारी विद्याएँ निर्रथक हो जाती हैं। इसलिए तू भगवान की हीं शरण ले, उन्हीं को पुकार।

आदि शंकराचार्य ऐसे गाते थे जैसे उनकी जिह्वा पर देवी सरस्वती का वास हो। इस श्लोक में भी शायद देवी स्वयं उनके मुख से संसारी प्राणी से कह रही है

krsnaya krsna-caitanya-

He's Krsna Himself. Krsna is so kind. First of all He came as the Supreme Personality of Godhead and He demanded as God's order, "You surrender," but people did not do it. Therefore Krsna has again come in the form of devotee, krsna-caitanya-namne, and now He is ready to give you not only Krsna, but love of Krsna, freely. Take it and distribute it all over the world.
