Congregational members naturally need more encouragement because of the material duties they have to perform. Most of them have to maintain families and go to work. They need so much more association and encouragement from other devotees. For spiritual life, it is in one sense easier to live in the temple complex in the tight association of the devotees. It is easier to practice Krishna consciousness. But if we think only in these terms, we will not have

In the second verse of his famed sutras on bhakti, Shandilya defines bhakti as "exclusive and intense loving attachment to the Lord." The Vaishnava sage Nârada elaborates upon this definition in his Nârada-bhakti-sutra, where He says, "Bhakti consists of offering one's every action to the Supreme Lord and feeling extreme distress in forgetting Him." And how would they attempt to recapture the experience? It were the six Gosvâmîs of Vrindâvan who took the challenge to heart, making Mahâprab
