Balaji is Bala Krishna

In twenty minutes Prabhupada sought to give his receptive audience a comprehensive summary of the purpose of human life, and what they could do, as leaders of society, to help the citizens attain it. His statements reflected the depth and profundity of his realizations on the nature and goal of the human species.

He began by saying that the progress of human life should be systematized according to sastra, just as the workings of government are regulated by certain rules. "S

Veda-pracara

When the minister mentioned Tirupati, Prabhupada took the opportunity to speak directly about what he sees as the defect in the government's approach to the utilization of its wealth. "Now the thing is that, say, for Tirupati, it has got biggest income. But I understand that this income is being engaged for industrial purpose."

Mr. Raju was quick to assure him that the funds were not being improperly spent. "But just one thing, let me explain Swamiji. We are not directly giving to ind

Authorized program will be successful

Prabhupada said, "Let them come in the temple and there may be sumptuously offering of bhoga. Let them chant and take prasada. In this chanting, illiterate-literate, rascal-fool, lower-higher, everyone can join. And give them prasada. See the effect. Kalau sudra-sambhavah. The Vedas are meant for the brahmanas. So there is no brahmana practically; neither there is training of brahmanas. Brahmana means he must speak truth. And if you ask nowadays anybody that

Vulture's mentality

Mr. Raju was submissive to Srila Prabhupada, and asked what he could do for the devotees in Andhra Pradesh.

Prabhupada answered simply. "You become guided by Bhagavad-gita. Brahmanas means they are teachers. Pathana-paathana-yajana-yaajana-dana-pratigrahah. So every temple should be educational center, and the brahmanas should be engaged. They should be properly educated and they should teach others also. In this way, temple means education in spiritual life. And actually spiri

Sannyasa: It's Internal Meaning

2514789726?profile=originalThe following is an excerpt from a talk given by Sripad Bhaktibhavana Visnu Maharaja on the occasion of Srila Prabhupada's Sannyasa initiation anniversary at Kesavaji Gaudiya Matha in Mathura.

What is the significance of Sannyasa ? In Gaudiya Vaisnavism there are many important philosophical points to understand properly and digest. To make progress, devotees must refine their conception of divinity and focus their aspirations. The order of sannyasa is a strong step in that direction.

Never Forget Krishna

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it every day. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap in its shade.... He loved the tree, and the tree loved to play with him.
Time went by. The little boy grew up, and he no longer played around the tree every day. One day, the boy came back to the tree with a sad look on his face.
"Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy.
"I am no longer a kid, I don’t play around trees anymore." The

The Rasa Dance

The-Rasa-Dance.jpg

1. There on the Yamuna’s banks Lord Govinda began the pastime of the rasa dance in the company of those jewels among women, the faithful gopis, who joyfully linked their arms together.

2. The festive rasa dance commenced, with the gopis arrayed in a circle. Lord Krsna expanded Himself and entered between each pair of gopis, and as that master of mystic power placed His arms around their necks, each girl thought He was

Purnachandra Maharaja's health update

2514789759?profile=original

Dear Devotees,

Dandavat pranams. Jay Srila Prabhupada!

HH Purnacandra Maharaja is still in coma and it seems that there is not much
that the doctors can do to get him out of it. He is on life support, but the
doctors at this point are not talking about discontinuing with life support.

The problem in Moscow is getting the right information from the doctors
because they are reluctant to speak about his predicament as Maharaja is an
American citizen, without any 'legal' representative in Russia. T
