Present life is not all in all

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Aba6Qt3k1zU/SfrwjVF_jDI/AAAAAAAAK2I/XdQKwALxdRY/s400/reincarnation.jpg

Please do not be carried away by the mis given mind to conclude that the present life is all in all. You are eternal, and the present form of human life is a chance of realizing your eternal life. Do not spoil your life simply by serving the mis given mind and the uncontrolled senses. Please do not become your own enemy by your own self

I Stick To The Simple Method

n675499928_1267998_7723.jpg
I stick to the simple method taught by Lord Caitanya and passed on by Srila Prabhupada. The name of Krishna is not different than Krishna Himself. Sometimes the Lord deliberately taught false philosophies, but in any case they are not to be followed perpetually. Only devotional service is the means by which to chant the holy name and benefit from its eternal proposition.

Can Eating Vegetables Also Be Sinful?

Question: Can Eating Vegetables Also Be Sinful?

While discussing with one of my friends I got confused. According to the four regulative principles of Krishna consciousness, I gave up meat eating a long time ago as I wanted to refrain from killing. When I told my friend I left meat because I don't want to kill, he said that even the plants have life and therefore eating them would also be killing. So I told him that since we are offering food to Krishna it's not sinful. He then asked, "If you off

Answering mails

Harikesa Maharaja entered Srila Prabhupada's bedroom during his massage to read out the day's mail. Radhaballabha dasa in Los Angeles had sent two separate letters containing questions about the production of the Srimad-Bhagavatam. The BBT is planning to reprint the First Canto for Christmas distribution. Jayadvaita dasa has re-edited it and Radhaballabha sought approval for the corrections. He said Hayagriva's original editing was mostly good except for the first two chapters, wh

Mayavadis are very offensive

September 7th, 1976

It was raining early this morning so Prabhupada simply made half a circuit of the temple parikrama path and then went in for darsana of the Deities and to give his class on Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.7.8.

Pradyumna prabhu lead the devotees in responsively chanting the sloka and then he read out the English. The verse stated that Srila Vyasadeva first compiled the Srimad-Bhagavatam and then after revising it, spoke it to his son, Sukadeva Gosvami.

Krishna Playing
Poet: surdas

Hari (Krishna) is singing something in his courtyard (aangan). He is dancing with His little-little feet and enticing His own mind.

Sometimes, He lifts His hands and calls the cows, by names Kajari and Dhauri, and then returns back to His home calling His father as Baba Nand.

He takes a bit of butter in His small hand and puts in His small mouth. Sometimes, He assumes the reflection in pillar to be another child and tries to offer Him a bit of butter.

Dear Friends,

Here in Warsaw, when the sankirtan devotees returned to the temple last evening, one of them told me that while crossing the street, he had gotten hit by a car going a couple of miles an hour. Didn't hurt him, but broke his book trolley. The driver was freaked out, crying and apologising profusely. The devotee assured her he wouldn't call the police, but insisted she take a cookbook and a Bhagavad-gita. She did, plus she paid for his broken trolley. He also made her promise to read

Sri Radhe-Krsna's playful pastimes (vihara)

Sri Radhe-Krsna's playful pastimes (vihara) - Jogiya-sthala

101078927DWmXvL_ph.jpg

Mahadeva Sankara worships Krsna here, and therefore this place is also known as Mahadeva's sitting-place (baithaka). Once, Mahadeva Sankara, desiring to have Krsna's darsana, was wandering throughout Vraja like a madman, but his repeated attempts bore no success. Sometimes, Krsna would be sleeping when he arrived and sometimes He would be sucking the breast of His mother. Also, Mother Yasoda did not want to show her baby Krsna to this st

This shows the blissful SnanYatra or bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannatha (a form of Lord Krishna), His brother Lord Balarama and His sister Lady Subhadra. Various items are used, such as fruit juices, milk, ghee, honey, water, yogurt, etc. This was held at the Detroit Iskcon Krishna Temple on July 18, 2010. Everyone who attended got the chance to bathe the Deities by pouring some of the items over the Deities. This is a prerequisite ceremony before we have the grand RathaYatra parade the followi

Spiritual Care Tour to Bhaktivedanta Hospital

By far the spiritual medical tour has been Mayapur Worldwide’s best tour till date. On my way back I kept asking Krsna why this tour was so extra special compared to any other we had conducted in the past.
The answers came in many ways. We were serving the hands that heal. These were HIS servants. And HIS servants are very dear to him. Every medical staff in the group came from different faiths but their faith lie in God.
These doctors, nurses, pharmacist were serving at various NHS hospitals in

The Prayers of Akrura

2. Earth; water; fire; air; ether and its source, false ego; the mahat-tattva, the total material nature and her source, the Supreme Lord’s purusa expansion; the mind; the s

Case of Nuns in a Court

2514807257?profile=original

There was a case of nuns in a court in Warsaw, Poland against ISKCON. Noting that ISKCON was spreading it's activities and gaining followers in Poland, a nun filed a case before a Judicial Magistrate praying that ISKCON should be banned because its followers were glorifying a Character called Krishna 'Who was loose in morals, having married 16,000 Gopikas'.

When the case came up for hearing the ISKCON defendant requested the Judge to ask the nun to repeat the oath she had taken when she was orda

Philosophy of Bhagavat Gita

2514806985?profile=original
Isvara (the Supreme Lord),
jiva (the living entity),
prakrti (nature),
kala (eternal time) and
karma (activity) are all explained in the Bhagavad-gita.

Out of these five, the Lord, the living entities, material nature and time are eternal.

The manifestation of prakrti may be temporary, but it is not false.

Some philosophers say that the manifestation of material nature is false, but according to the philosophy of Bhagavad-gita or according to the philosophy of the Vaisnavas, this is not so. The manifes

The ultimate shelter - Lord Krishna

2514806958?profile=original

It is said that a noble man accepts the good qualities of a person of
doubtful character, just as one accepts nectar from a stock of poison.
In His babyhood, Lord Krsna was administered deadly poison by Putana,
a she-demon who tried to kill the wonderful baby. And because she was
a demon, it was impossible for her to know that the Supreme Lord, even
though playing the part of a baby, was no one less than the same
Supreme Personality of Godhead. His value as the Supreme Lord did not
diminish upon His be
