Hare Krishna Dear Devotees
Please forgive me for my ignorance.
But suddenly a question came to my mind and that is.
Why does Krishna's picture/deity/idol shows Urdhva-pundra tilak on his forehead.
Urdhva-pundra tilak indicates surrender to Lord Krishna and the Urdhva-pundra symbolizes the lotus foot of Vishnu-Krishna.
The leaf symbol between the eyes protruding towards nose is indication of tulsi leaf on Krishna's foot.
Then why Krishna has to wear this tilak. (as shown on pictures/deities)
Please update me with correct information.
jai shree Krishna

i heard that this Tilak is the Lotus Feet of Shrimati Radharani - red.
Your servant,
Hare Krishna
The attached picture and many more shows Urdhva-pundra tilak.
The red U shape tilak - Lotus Feet of Shrimati Radharani make sense but not the urdhav-pundra tilak.
