Hare Krsna dear devotees

" When the members of the cowherd community, who had accepted Krsna as their dearmost friend, saw Him enveloped in the snake's coils, motionless, they were greatly disturbed. They had offered Krsna everything- their very selves, their families, their wealth, wives and all pleasures. At the sight of the Lord in the clutches of the Kaliya snake, their intelligence became deranged by grief, lamentation and fear, and thus they fell to the ground. "

PURPORT

Srila Sanatana Gosvami explains that the cowherd boys, along with some cowherd men and farmers who happened to be in the vicinity and who were also devotees of Krsna, fell to the ground just like trees that had been cut at the root.

  • Hare Krsna. This question must be approached not only through tattva (truth) but also through bhāva (loving sentiment). We should see every action of the Lord as divine līlā meant for increasing the sweetness and intimacy of our loving relationship with Him.

Shri Krishna is Purna Purushottam Bhagavan. He is beyond all material affliction, and all of His līlās are nitya (eternal), full of bliss (ānanda) and knowledge (jñāna). Even when He seems to suffer or cause suffering, it is not material; it is part of His divine play meant to enhance premabhakti in the hearts of His devotees.

In this instance, Krishna’s apparent danger in the coils of Kaliya was a play of divine separation—vipralambha bhāva. For the Vrajvasis, especially the Gopas, this moment of extreme anguish deepened their love to immeasurable levels. Just as gold is purified in fire, their love, already pure, became even more intense, exclusive, and unshakeable.

The Vrajvasis had offered everything to Krishna—not out of duty, but out of spontaneous love (raaga-bhakti). In the moment of perceived loss, that love became param-vyakulatā (supreme anxiety), which is one of the highest expressions of prema. The Lord allows this so that the devotee can taste the deepest nectar of divine love, which comes through both union (milana) and separation (viraha). The anguish of the cowherds wasn’t a weakness, it was a glorious symptom of their complete surrender. Even in their moment of total despair, they did not curse Krishna or abandon Him. Rather, they collapsed out of love. This shows the world what true surrender (sharanāgati) looks like where the devotee’s own happiness or life becomes secondary to the Lord. After this moment of darkness, Krishna delivers a spectacular display of divine power by defeating Kaliya and dancing on his hoods. This establishes Krishna not only as the protector of devotees but also as the supreme enjoyer (rasika shekhara), whose dance enchants even the enemy. The suffering was temporary, but the joy of His victory became eternal.

"Whatever Shri Thakurji does, He does for the nourishment of our soul and our love."

We do not question the Lord’s līlā, even when it appears harsh to the worldly eye. Instead, we see in it His deep compassion—He draws us closer by testing the strength and purity of our love. Just as Yashodaji’s fear and Nandbaba’s helplessness increased their vatsalya bhāva, so too the Gopas’ pain deepened their sakhya prema.

In the end, no one was harmed. Rather, all hearts were bathed in the nectar of Krishna’s karuṇā and ānanda. That is the mystery of devotion, what seems like suffering becomes the greatest gift. Hari Hari.

  • It must be remembered that because the inhabitants of Vrndavana were completely liberated souls, they did not experience material emotions.

  • The whole situation has to be seen from the spiritual point of view, or it will not be seen at all.

Just as the Lord's pastimes are ' amogha ', beyond any discrepancy. This narration by Amogha Lila Prabhu ji is impeccable. He is so funny that it made me laugh out aloud. He is truly a gem of a devotee.

Yes you are right he is the reason why I started watching kathas, also I remember hearing him saying that he is actually an introvert type person but he only does this to preach to young audience,

He is actually a very good preacher.

          Hari hari

          • Yes ofcourse I meant that only. He is s very good preacher devotee.

    • Hare Krishna prabhuji

I have heard this lila, in that it was said that when  krishna was coiled by kaliya naag all the people were ready to jump in the poison to save krishna which that in spiritual world's love devotees are ready to sacrifice themselves for Krishna, also that krishna this time waited for everyone to gather there as this time he wanted to show the lila live to everyone not just like other lila where krishna does everything first and then only news is received by the devotees in vrindavan.

      • Hare Krsna

" Lord Balarama then saw that Nanda Maharaja and the other cowherd men, who had dedicated their lives to Krsna, were beginning to enter the serpent's lake. As the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Balarama fully knew Lord Krsna's actual power, and therefore He restrained them. "

        PURPORT

Srila Sanatana Gosvami explains that Lord Balarama checked some of the cowherd men by speaking to them, others by physically holding them and still others by casting upon them His potent smiling glance. Distraught over the situation, they were prepared to give up their lives for Lord Krsna by entering the serpent's lake.
