Why is Ganga considered Moksha-daaini ( Liberator ) , who is her husband among Brahma,Vishnu,Mahesha ?
Did the origination of Ganga happened only after Vamana Lila or it existed before that ?

harekrishna respected devotees,
recently i saw in tv that any one who takes bath in ganges in recent times will definitlely get cancer please confirm the news i wish it is rumours that scientist proved some chemicals which causes cancer.
i am extremely sorry for sharing this with u after hearing the news i put ganges on my head i myself couldnt believe it

it is we ourselves who do not care of Her by throwing all dirt unto Her waters :(
And any sickness that arises is not because the water but because of dirt within it. But spiritually Ganges water is for sure purifies.
Cancer appears because of our ugra karma in previous lives.

in Shrimad Bhagavatam Canto 8 or 9 i read that Ganga Devi came to this world in three ways:
One is when Bagiratha took her to this world in order to liberate his ancestors, that time she became as a daughter of Jahnu Muni. (if i do not do mistake)
Then she appeared when Lord Vamana Dev pierced the covering of this universe.
And the third one i forgot.
She is not a wife of Brahma. She is a wife of King Shantanu.
