After death (changing of body) the soul is taken by yamduths, who take the soul to either hell or heaven (according to their past misdeeds or good deeds) or goes to vaikuntha (in case of a devotee) or takes birth again (enters into another body based on its previous actions ) , then why does pitrloka even exists or who resides here?

same answer as you would give to --why does waiting room exist at a railway station?

Hare Krishna,
The King of the pitās is Yamarāja, the very powerful son of the sun-god. He resides in Pitṛloka with his personal assistants and, while abiding by the rules and regulations set down by the Supreme Lord, has his agents, the Yamadūtas, bring all the sinful men to him immediately upon their death. After bringing them within his jurisdiction, he properly judges them according to their specific sinful activities and sends them to one of the many hellish planets for suitable punishments.
Yamarāja is not a fictitious or mythological character; he has his own abode, Pitṛloka, of which he is king. Agnostics may not believe in hell, but Śukadeva Gosvāmī affirms the existence of the Naraka planets, which lie between the Garbhodaka Ocean and Pātālaloka. Yamarāja is appointed by the Supreme Personality of Godhead to see that the human beings do not violate His rules and regulations. ( SB 5.26.6 )

So what does the offerings made to forefathers do? What help is given to them in that way? Although I know that if we surrender unto Mukund, we won't need to do all that.
In Vedic civilization there is a performance called śrāddha by which food is offered with faith and devotion. If one offers oblations with faith and devotion—either to the lotus feet of Lord Viṣṇu or to His representative in Pitṛloka, Aryamā—one's forefathers will attain material bodies to enjoy whatever material enjoyment is due them. In other words, they do not have to become ghosts. ( SB 4.18.18)
If you donate your punya karma like ekadashi fal to them. The pitra can ascend up and reach Vaikuntha dhaam and they thank you for doing such good karma daan to them and bless you.
Or some even do bhagwat saptah parayan and donate the fal to pitr forefathers to make them go ahead to Vaikntha .. instead of taking birth again they ascend upwards and give you plenty of blessings.
So should we give it deliberately or by serving krsna , it can be done automatically .
Since
devarṣi-bhūtāpta-nṛṇāṁ pitṝṇāṁ
na kiṅkaro nāyam ṛṇī ca rājan
sarvātmanā yaḥ śaraṇaṁ śaraṇyaṁ
gato mukundaṁ parihṛtya kartam
O King, one who has given up all material duties and has taken full shelter of the lotus feet of Mukunda, who offers shelter to all, is not indebted to the demigods, great sages, ordinary living beings, relatives, friends, mankind or even one’s forefathers who have passed away. Since all such classes of living entities are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, one who has surrendered to the Lord’s service has no need to serve such persons separately
There is no need if you doing bhakti to govind. All runa to pitras are taken care of. If you don't do any shardha or anything also if you just offer a leaf, fruit, flower or even water to Krishna with love. Lord will take care of all the things. Removes you from all bondages of material world.
