All glories to Srila Prabhupada
It is said in Chaitanya Charitamrita that when lord Krishna wanted to taste the devotional love of Srimati Radharani, he came as lord Chaitanya, or when he desired to right. Hence, Jaya and Vijay took the form of demons with whom Krishna fought.
Since Krishna is completely independent and everything happens according to his will, he is free to do anything and go anywhere he likes, personally.
But I wanted to know why Krishna chose the material world? Is it to let the conditioned souls see the glories of the lord!?

The Lord need not come to fulfill His desires.

Brahma Samhita
A kalpavkrsa is a desire tree and it is said in the Brahma Samhita that in Goloka Vrndavana there are many desire trees. So why take the trouble of coming here? All desires can be instantly fulfilled by the kalpavrksa.
In Goloka Srimati Radharani and Krsna are inseparable. So where is the separation? Where is the heartfelt separation that is the very soul of Gaudiya Vaisnavas ?
Earth is a very special place.

Normally in all other incarnations Krishna came to destroy the miscreanant, to teach them a lesson and set right the Dharma and restablish fallen Dharma + protect the devotees.
But when Lord came a Lord Sri Krishna HImself .. He did all things- set dharma back again, taught lesson to mankind, Did Kill Kansa, Did protect the devotees. In addition to these all regular things .. He also came to play with his devotee friends and give pleasure to the Vraj waasi.
When He came as Lord Chaitanaya Mahaprabhu, His main intention was only to experience how a DEVOTEE feels for HIS Lord How much pain a devotee can suffer to attain Lord. The highest among the devotee is Shrimati Radharani and So, He wanted to understand HER Mahabhava. What it would be like to be a devotee in Mahabhava and taste that ecstay.
That avatara is called Channa avatara. What does Channa avatara means it is Gupt avatar. It is not to kill anyone. Not to punish anyone. It was just to experience the estacy of being a devotee in Mahabhava.
In this avatara you will find the Jaya Vijaya devotees coming back too.
Lord didn't kill them .. He just made them selfless devotee of Lord.
The main Idea of this channa avatara is to spread the glories of Lord and restablishing the importance of Nama Sankirtana and glories of the holy name.
The dharma established in this avtara was to spread the glories of holy name.
Krishna choses this material world to spread glories of the Holy name.. Because. the yuga is Kaliyuga in which HE comes. In Kaliyuga Dharma is on one leg. There is only Truthfulness exsisting still which could also get destroyed in Ghor Kaliyuga.
The dharma that Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu established is Nama Sankirtana. Only Hari nama can save this world at this time Nothing else NOthing else Nothing else.
WHY DID HE CHOSE MATERIAL WORLD is BECAUSE HE IS VERY MERCIFUL. BECAUSE THIS TIME HE IS GIVING FREELY LORD FOR THOSE WHO EVEN CHANT A LITTLE BIT OF HOLY NAME.
ONLY BECAUSE IN THIS AVATARA HIS MERCIFUL . ALL THANKS TO SRIMATI RADHARANI HE Comes to save the fallen people of Kaliyuga.

I actually got this doubt when listening to lectures on CC, so thank you for clarifying it.
Also after I had posted this question, I came across the line which Srila Prabhupada wrote in krishna book that "for Krishna there is no difference between spiritual and material world", so I thought that must also be the answer to this.
Whereever LOrd is there that place itself become spiritual.

No, that's not what I meant! I know that Krishna is eternally present in spiritual world and the lilas there are eternal

Yes, but a more important reason is to show the conditioned souls, the glory of His pure devotees.
Also, the lord cannot fight with anyone in spiritual world like Sri Rama fought with Ravana here.
