Why do devotees call each other prabhu?

Prabhu means Lord(if not give me meaning). We are not lords then is it appropiate to call each other prabhu. Can't it create a mindset of pride? Can anyone give me explanation for calling prabhu according to scriptures? Please i request you to clear my doubt since we devotees shall be humble, thinking ourselves servants of the servant of the Supreme Lord.

When devotee reaches the higher levels, he starts visualising the presence of Lord Krsna in everything moving, immoving, animals, human beings, that is to say everything. In such cases his calling other person a "Prabhu" is very right and does not increase his ego or pride.
  • When we call others as prabhu, we acknowledge them as masters and ourselves as Das(servant). The one who is addressed as Prabhu, in turn calls himself as Das and others as Prabhu. In this way, while giving all respect to others, we think of ourselves as insignificant. This is the secret behind the title of Prabhu. No one calls himself as Prabhu.
