Who is Krishna?

Sri Vaishnava, please bless me a lot and please forgive me for all offences committed at your Lotus Feet. Pranam to Sri Vaishnava

Pranam Prabhu, please bless me a lot.

I have a question. How do we know that Srimad Bhagavatam and Puranas were complied by Sri Vyasadev? Was it all written by Vopadeva?

Pranam Prabhu, please bless me a lot. Please watch the following video I found online to guide me: https://youtu.be/3N-9yEj1Esk?si=qF_EN3ITgoya1m63

I have another question. Does that mean Krishna is not the Supreme Personality of Godhead? Does that mean that Krishna did samadhi and became a yogi, and almighty Lord spoke through Krishna and Krishna not Supreme Personality of Godhead?

  • Gaudapada, the guru of Adi Sankaracarya lived much before Vopadeva who appeared only around 13th century C.E. Yet Gaudapada at the end of his commentary to Uttara Gita ch. 2 quotes the last part of Srimad Bhagavatam 10.14.4 about mental speculators.

    tad uktam bhAgavate
    teSAm asau klezala eva ziSyate
    nAnyad yathA sthUla-tuSAvaghAtinAm

conclusion: SB predates Vopadeva by centuries.

SB's position is best described by Jiva Gosvami in Tattva sandarbha with many quotes showing Vyasa's authorship of SB and other sastras. One example:

tato 'tra mat suto vyAso 'STAviMzatitame 'ntare
vedam ekaM catuSpAdaM caturdhA vyabhajat prabhuH // ViP_3,4.2 //
yathA tu tena vai vyastA vedavyAsena dhImatA
vedAs tathA samastais tair vyastA vyAsais tathA mayA // ViP_3,4.3 //
    tad anenaiva vedAnAM zAkhAbhedAn dvijottama
    caturyugeSu racitAn samasteSv avadhAraya // ViP_3,4.4 //
    kRSNadvaipAyanaM vyAsaM viddhi nArAyaNaM prabhum
ko 'nyo hi bhuvi maitreya mahAbhAratakṛd bhavet // ViP_3,4.5 //

"Then, in this twenty-eight yuga cycle, my son, the Lord Vyasa, took the one Veda, consisting of four parts, and divided it into four. All the other Vyasas, and myself as well; also arrange the Vedas just as the wise Vedavyasa had arranged them. Therefore, know for certain that the different branches of the Vyasas in the four yugas were created for this reason alone. O Maitreya, know that Krsna Dvaipayana (Vyasa) is the Lord Narayana Himself; for one who on earth but He could have composed the Mahabharata?" (Visnu Purana 3.4.2-5, spoken by Parasara Muni)

"almighty Lord spoke through Krishna": Who is that almighty Lord? Arjuna, many sages and acaryas accept Krisna as SPoG. Even Adi Sankaracarya accepted Him as such (Bhaja Govindam etc.).

"what if I am confused about a particular question and confused if it is Mayavadi or not, do I private chat the question instead of posting it publicly?": Yes. But if you stick to Vaisnava sastras and commentaries there will be no confusion.

A vaishnava will not forgive mayavadi or mayavada.

How do we know that Srimad Bhagavatam and Puranas were complied by Sri Vyasadev?

Envious atheistic people will never know it

video I found online to guide me

This video is by bogus mayavadis. Mayavadis are Krsna aparadhi. This is a warning - Please do not share or spread bogus mayavadi content. It is as bogus as false humility expressed.

    Does that mean ?

It only means that mayavadis are envious of Krishna. They are so envious that they deny Sri Krsna as Supreme person and come up with bogus ideas contrary to the conclusions of scriptures. Please stop trying to spread the poisonous filthy ideas on the pretense of asking questions.

    Hare Krsna

        • Pranam Bharat Prabhu,

I (Sumanta Sinha Choudhury from Toronto) bow down unto your Lotus Feet by typing. Please bless me.

Earlier when I was laying on bed, I had negative feelings towards you, and blasphemy appeared either out of the physical mouth or blasphemy was so close to appear towards you. Please forgive me Bharat Prabhu, and please bless me that I will be able to surrender to Krishna easily.

            Hare Krsna

I don't care if someone blasphemes me . But anyone who promotes envious mayavada content or blasphemy towards Krsna or Krsna's devotees is likely be shredded without exception no matter how much of false humility or pretense behaviour they portray.

Kindly try to surrender to words of Srila Prabhupada first, surrender to Krsna is later.

            Hare Krsna
