Here is what I was taught in Temple lectures:

In our primaeval origin, we are emanated from Srimati Radharani.  She, Herself, is an emanation of Sri Krishna's Internal Devotional Potency, in primal origin coming from Sri Krsna.

But, we Jivas (souls), were originally personalized in Sri Krishna's personal pastimes in Goloka Vrndavan.

We all come from that original pastime with Sri Krsna.

Now it is time to return to that activity and never return to the material manifestation.

We say aham brhamasmi -  "I am spirit soul"

and, we are achintya-bheda-bheda-tattva - "part and parcel of the Lord."

  • SB 10.12.33From the body of the gigantic python, a glaring effulgence came out, illuminating all directions, and stayed individually in the sky until Kṛṣṇa came out from the corpse’s mouth. Then, as all the demigods looked on, this effulgence entered into Kṛṣṇa’s body.
SB 10.78.10A most subtle and wondrous spark of light then [rose from the demon’s body and] entered Lord Kṛṣṇa while everyone looked on, O King, just as when Śiśupāla was killed.

      Hare Krsna

BG As it is 2.54 Purport :  It is said that a fool is undiscovered as long as he does not speak, and certainly a well-dressed fool cannot be identified unless he speaks, but as soon as he speaks, he reveals himself at once.

SB 3.24.42 Purport : It is said by Canakya Pandita that a rascal appears very intelligent as long as he does not speak. But speaking is the test.

CC Adi Introduction : It is the fool who is celebrated as long as he does not speak, for when he breaks his silence his lack of knowledge is exposed.

JSD 6.5 : A rascal, a fool, is prestigious as long as he does not speak. As soon as he speaks, his nature will be revealed—what he really is.

I respectful obeisances are unto you, O spiritual master, servant of Sarasvati Gosvami. You are kindly preaching the message of Lord Caitanyadeva and delivering the Western countries, which are filled with impersonalism and voidism.

Thank you Srila prabhupad for saving us from impersonalism.

It is the foolish impersonalists who think that jivas are light, come from light and merge into light.  Being in so much dark ignorance of impersonalism all they can imagine is light.

Arvind Pr by ignoring the above comments made by dean you will save yourself from the darkness of impersonalism

"All living entities in creation are inspired by the Lord in the heart to act in different ways. People of different religions praise the Lord's holy names and qualities according to the view of their scriptures. The Supreme Lord accepts everyone's mood. If anyone shows malice towards another's religion he actually shows malice to the Lord Himself, who is worshiped by that religion. Since God is one, that person becomes envious of the same Supreme Lord that he himself is worshiping."
SB 3.29.21I am present in every living entity as the Supersoul. If someone neglects or disregards that Supersoul everywhere and engages himself in the worship of the Deity in the temple, that is simply imitation.
SB 3.29.22One who worships the Deity of Godhead in the temples but does not know that the Supreme Lord, as Paramātmā, is situated in every living entity’s heart, must be in ignorance and is compared to one who offers oblations into ashes.
SB 3.29.23One who offers Me respect but is envious of the bodies of others and is therefore a separatist never attains peace of mind, because of his inimical behavior towards other living entities.
SB 3.29.24My dear mother, even if he worships with proper rituals and paraphernalia, a person who is ignorant of My presence in all living entities never pleases Me by the worship of My Deities in the temple.

    Hare Krsna

You are right we are spirit souls - Jiva atma. Krsna is the supreme spirit - parama atma.

Jiva is  sat cit and ananda. Krsna is also sat cit ananda

Jiva is very tiny. Krishna is unlimited. Krsna has unlimited potencies- sakti. We are also Krsna's energy. Of the multi-potencies of Krsna three main energies are - Internal energy(antaranga sakti), external energy(bahiranga sakti) and marginal energy(tatastha sakti). Krsna is the shaktiman who posses these shaktis.

The unique attribute of jiva - marginal potency is that it is to be situated under either the internal or the external energy. Constitutionally jiva is rightfully situated under the internal energy in spiritual world where jiva has a unique sat cit ananda svarupa - permanent unchanging form in which the jiva serves the lord eternally.

But the jiva has a choice - "free-will"  to either serve the lord or not to serve the lord. When the jiva does not want to serve the lord, it is put under the external energy in the material world. In material world jiva gets different bodies like Krsna says in BG As it is Chapter 2.

Jivas even in material world have a choice whether to remain in material world or to go back to spiritual world.

As you have said origin of jiva is Krsna himself since Krsna is the source of everything (including everything). Jiva in material world has come from spiritual world leaving its eternal svarupa and is trying to enjoy the external energy of the lord. Jiva can never become equal to Krsna, but it is trying to become Krsna by lording it over the material energy.

The above point you have mentioned is what i was trying to pull out from devotees as part of this discussion. Can you please tell me when we are asked to serve and when we denied serving krsna, were we interviewed by someone before coming to this material world?

What kind of interview are you talking about ? Please elaborate

            Hare Krsna Ashwin Pr

BG 8.21 : having attained it, one never returns – that is My supreme abode.

BG 15.6 : Those who reach it never return to this material world.

This means that conditioned living entities when they reach/attain their constitutional position in spiritual world, then again they will not again fall back to material world.

This doesn't mean jiva which is rightfully situated in constitutional position does not / cannot fall to material existence. Being marginal potency jiva has that choice.

Conclusion you have made about original place of jiva is not supported by scriptures.

Jiva has anadi (beginningless) karma - This is an indication that of the extent of conditioning  of the jiva due to contact with material existence. It is given to understand how how difficult it for jiva to get out on its own. It doesn't mean literally jiva has been in the material existence since eternity. Material existence itself isn't eternal, it is temporarily created and annihilated.

Jiva has free will - Purports of Srimad Bhagavatam & CC clearly support this

Sb 11.3.38 - The conditioned living entity is originally part and parcel of the superior, internal potency of the Lord, but being in contact with illusion, he falls under the clutches of the external potency.

SB 11.22.32 - The living entity is originally pure spirit soul and is meant to depend on the Personality of Godhead in the spiritual world.

CC Adi 5.66 - In the conditioned state the living entities of the marginal energy are a mixture of spiritual and material energies. The marginal energy is originally under the control of the spiritual energy, but, under the control of the material energy, the living entities have been wandering in forgetfulness within the material world

The conditioned state is caused by misuse of the individual independence of the spiritual platform, for this separates the living entity from the association of the spiritual energy. But when the living entity is enlightened by the grace of the Supreme Lord or His pure devotee and becomes inclined to revive his original state of loving service, he is on the most auspicious platform of eternal bliss and knowledge. The marginal jiva, or living entity, misuses his independence and becomes averse to the eternal service attitude when he independently thinks he is not energy but the energetic. This misconception of his own existence leads him to the attitude of lording it over material nature.

These are divine purports of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupad - compassionate savior of the conditioned living. They are not speculations of scientists or arm chair philosophers or evil minded intellectuals. Faith on the right source is important.
