  • Hare Kṛṣṇa.

A bee continues its unending search for nectar from many flowers. But it is the flower that is most beautiful and exuberantly filled with sweet honey that attracts it the most. Likewise, we have a number of scriptures. Of them, Srimad Bhagavad Gita, which forms part of the world’s largest epic, the Mahabharata, contains that nectar which makes the learner go beyond birth and death.

The insight that the Gita provides in controlling our life’s destiny is unparallel. The Gita gives us wonderful courage to deal with the many challenges that life poses. In order to gain the rich experience that the Gita enumerates, noblemen – men of character – searching for the true meaning of life come to study the Gita.

    • Wonderful!

I had something else in mind.

From the bumblebee I have learned to be unattached to accumulating money, for although MONEY IS AS GOOD AS HONEY, anyone can kill its owner and take it away.
      Purport
The honey gathered in the comb is taken away by force. Therefore one who accumulates money should realize that he may be harassed by the government or by thieves or even killed by enemies. Especially in this age of Kali-yuga, it is said that instead of protecting the money of the citizens, the government itself will take away the money with the force of law.
One should own as much as he immediately needs. There is no need to keep a big balance at hand, along with the fear that it may be plundered by the government or by thieves.

      • In telugu there is a saying sommo okkadhidhi Soku okkadhidhi.

meaning-  One accumulates wealth but he cannot enjoy every coin he earned.. one day when death comes he has to leave all the wealth behind and someone else enjoys at the expense of him.

Honey bee also collects honey going to all the flowers. . sometimes it even endangers its life during collecting honey... it gets entrapped in some carnivorus plants are there which entrap insects and bees and kills them... Bechare itta sab kuch karke.. workers ki tarah apne aap khud honey taiyaari mein jhut jaati. Honey is not directly collected it is the nectar from the flowers that will mix with the saliva of the bees to change its properties to become honey. Itta sab kuch karke woh kuch apne aap bhog hi nahi karti. Sadly they get all killed by the honey collecting farmers by litting a fire under the honey comb..

I learn that Service to others is what is needed.. We may live or die someday.. but our hardwork is giving to others who are using it ...

We should do selfless service. Even if we ourselves don't enjoy the fruits of the labor.. Someone else enjoys it.. that makes the life worth living.

        • Hare Krsna Mataji

You speak of hardwork and service to others.

' If we ourselves don't enjoy the fruits of labor, someone else will..that makes life worh living. '

          I can't understand this.

Even the mudhas as described in Bhagavad-gita work very hard but they don't know why they are working so hard serving illusory masters.

If tommorow you leave crores of money in your bank for your relatives and they use it for purposes other than to help spread Krsna conscious. What service is that?

Do you really think Krsna wants you to work so hard? How will you utilze your time for Krsna consciousness?

Your conclusion is just the opposite of that of the great saintly person who was met by Prahlada Maharaja regarding the lesson he learnt from the bumblebee. That's why I am also asking?

          Hari bol

          • I like madhusudhana. Lol why is Krishna always compared to sweet... honey His lips are sweet honey like it seems and His. .. feet oozes honey It seems. ...

            • Madhu was also a formidable demon.

          • If i die and i have already made arrangements for extra money twhat to be done :-)

          • There is no need of accumulating too much. Just ehat is sufficient if by krishna's grace you get money you must use it well for Kc purposes. Not for philanthropic activities

            • As Prabhupada said that,  " The Krsna consiousness movement is the greatest philanthropic activity."

              • BTW..What is your realization about bumble bees?
