What does unlimited mean?

I was going through some srila prabhupada transcripts on vaniquotes..and am confused...

Lecture on SB 5.5.1-2 -- London (Tittenhurst), September 13, 1969

And what is the purpose of that self-realization, or God-realization? That is yena sattvaṁ śuddhyet. Then your existence will be purified. What is the necessity of purifying my existence? Yena sattvaṁ śuddhyed yasmāt... If you purify your existence, then yasmād brahma-saukhyam (SB 5.5.1), you'll relish unlimited pleasure. You are after now temporary pleasure by sense gratification, but in this life, in this human form of life, if you control your sense gratification and utilize the time for self-realization, so as soon as you are self-realized man or Brahman realized man then your happiness is unlimited. You are after happiness. Your sense gratification means you are after happiness, but this happiness is temporary. Any material happiness, it has no continuity. It has got limit. But if you want... But my desire is to have unlimited happiness, unlimited life, unlimited knowledge. If you want that, so try this life, this human form of life. Don't waste it simply after sense gratification, but practice austerity. Minimize your sense gratification.

HERE SRILA PRABHUPADA USES THE WORD UNLIMITED TO INDICATE 'ETERNAL' EARLIER I FELT IT MEANT THAT UNLIMITED IN AMOUNT...PLEASE CLARIFY MY DOUBT WHAT DOES UNLIMITED MEAN HERE ... UNLIMITED IN AMOUNT OR 'ETERNAL/UNENDING...

PLEASE CLARIFY MY DOUBT WHAT DOES UNLIMITED MEAN HERE

    ṛṣabha uvāca
    nāyaṁ deho deha-bhājāṁ nṛloke
    kaṣṭān kāmān arhate viḍ-bhujāṁ ye
    tapo divyaṁ putrakā yena sattvaṁ
    śuddhyed yasmād brahma-saukhyaṁ tv anantam

Lord Ṛṣabhadeva told His sons: My dear boys, of all the living entities who have accepted material bodies in this world, one who has been awarded this human form should not work hard day and night simply for sense gratification, which is available even for dogs and hogs that eat stool. One should engage in penance and austerity to attain the divine position of devotional service. By such activity, one’s heart is purified, and when one attains this position, he attains eternal, blissful life, which is transcendental to material happiness and which continues forever.

If we refer to the shloka, the word used is anantam which means never ending. The word to word translation given by Srila Prabhupada is anantam — unending. The english translation of shloka is - which continues forever.

It is clear from the above that it refers unending / eternal bliss.

There can be various limitations for happiness - Quantity, Ability,Time, etc. So when Srila Prabhupada mentions unlimited it means beyond the limitations of time.

Further more it cannot be unlimited quantity of happiness, because jiva is itself limited in quantity, capacity. Jiva is limited in quantity/capacity, both in conditioned and liberated state. This understanding is based on Bhagavad Gita & Srimad Bhagavatam.

There is no need to generalize. The usage of the word "Unlimited" by Srila Prabhupada in the Lecture on SB 5.5.1-2 -- London (Tittenhurst), September 13, 1969

        has been clarified above.

        • So the conclusion i pick up from the discussion -
Any material sense gratification or anything will give a much lower taste compared to taste i or anyone will get in pure krishna conciousness...? and taste in pure KC is eternal and always increasing...??

          • Hare Krsna Agrim Prabhu

Spiritual bliss in Krsna consciousness is unlimited in the sense it is ever increasing. Any happiness derived from sense gratification cannot go on increasing indefinitely. After a while it is chewing the chewed.
