In today's world we come across many people who are non devotees and with different beliefs. Normally, a devotee in the beginner level will not be able to answer such questions efficiently. The Common Notions of People are that if one is Krishna Consciousness then he will become Sanyasi and people do not have a inner understanding of diety worship so they think is is unnecessary. Now coming to the point, Srila Prabhupadas Book on Science of Self Realization is a basic book which answers all your doubts and clears the wrong thinking caused by speculation.
Here are few things you can explain to your friends:
1. Vedanta Sutra Says That The Purpose of Human Life is Athato Brahma Jijnasa i.e. To Know the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna
2. We are not this body but spiritual souls who are eternal servants of Krishna. The Soul Transmigrates from One Body to Another and this is confirmed in Ch 2.13 of BG as "As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change."
3. The qualities of soul is explained by Krishna in Ch 2.20 of BG as "For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain."
4. There can be never peace and happiness as long as people are in Material Platform and they are subjected to 3 Kinds of Miseries i.e Miseries Caused by our Mind, Miseries Caused by others and Miseries caused by Nature in the form of Disasters.
5. Just Like there is a Motor Car and A Person is driving it. Petrol is required only to run the car not to the person sitting inside the car. Similarly, Material facilities are required only to Maintain our body but the real necessity of the soul is devotional service to Krishna and Serving at the Lotus feet of Krishna
6. The Simplest ways to engage in devotional service of Krishna is Chant Hare Krishna Mantra, Consume food which are remnants of Krishna and Associate with the devotees of Krishna. One should render service to Krishna and the spiritual master who is the representative of Krishna with benediction of Krishna to relieve the fallen souls from the Blazing fire of material existence
7. Krishna Consciousness is Dormant in ones heart and it can be awakened by the Spiritual Master and the devotees of Krishna to progress in the path of perfection.
8. Krishna Consciousness is very sweet, try it and you will automatically experience the Bliss and taste of rendering service to the lotus feet of Krishna.

You should quote a lot from Srila Prabhupada's commentaries.He has written so directly, it solves the problem of any interpreter.He wrote from his heart, the most direct way to spread Krishna Consciousness was taught by Srila Prabhupada himself. By being humble, gentle, and frank, you can convince them that Krishna Consciousness is not even a cult as it is made out to be by many of its detractors in the west, far from being a "dangerous" cult, it is the way to an eternal life.

i alweiz let those people to know that there is some thing named as god..... and tell them to wait, krishna will automatically let u to realise his power. coz in todays scenario it is very difficult for a normal devotee to change other person's mind.
