Hare Krishna,
Recently, I have been reading about A Second Chance: The Story of a Near-Death Experience, which is Ajamila's story and his deliverance and being saved from hell by chanting the holy name Narayana at the time of death. It is a really powerful event. However, one question came up in my mind while reading about the incident's timeline.
From what I understand, things like self-realization, liberation were very difficult to achieve in earlier ages like Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga and even Dwapar Yuga. Thus, my question is did this incident occur in a later age OR Krishna's name is absolute and it does not really matter in which age it is chanted.

It is difficult in every yuga, even in Kali Yuga it is difficult.
it does not really matter in which age it is chanted.
Young Dhruva meditated on names of Vasudeva in Satya yuga. Hanuman meditates on names of Sri Rama starting in treta yuga. The incident of Ajamila is not from Kali yuga because Bhagavatam was recited at beginning of kali yuga. So Ajamila incident is from an earlier yuga. Krsna's name is absolute.
Yes, Sri Krsna's transcendental names are absolute. They can liberate any conditioned soul from any stage at any time(yuga). But Krsna's name are not easily available for meditation at other times.
