Time of Compilation of Srimad Bhagavat Puran

Hare Krishna,

Deliverence of Srimad Bhagavat Puran :

Krishna -> Brahma -> Narada -> Vyasdeva-> Sukadeva Goswami -> Emperor Parikshit -> Suta Goswami -> Saunaka Muni and other assembled Rsis at Nimisaranya.

Now in SB 1.4.1 we can see -

Vyāsadeva said: On hearing Sūta Gosvāmī speak thus, Śaunaka Muni, who was the elderly, learned leader of all the rsis engaged in that prolonged sacrificial ceremony, congratulated Sūta Gosvāmī by addressing him as follows.

So shall we take it as Vyasdeva compiled the Srimad Bhagavat Puran in book form after the assembly of Nimisaranya ? This is just a query came in my mind and so thought of getting it clarified here. Please forgive me if it appears futile.

-Jai Shri Krishna !! Jai Bhakt Prahlad ki Jai !!

  • One should clearly understand that Sri Narada didn't teach Srila Vyasadeva the contents of Srimad Bhagavatam, because Srila Vyasadev is incarnation of God who naturally knows all history of universe and all the knowledge.

Sri Narada said to Srila Vyasadev :

SB 1.5.21 — Your Goodness has perfect vision. You yourself can know the Supersoul Personality of Godhead because you are present as the plenary portion of the Lord. Although you are birthless, you have appeared on this earth for the well-being of all people. Please, therefore, describe the transcendental pastimes of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa more vividly.

    .

Sri Narada only gave the advice to Srila Vyasadeva, to write down and describe pastimes of the Supreme in a way that produces powerful feelings, more vividly.  That's all.

    • OK. Thanks the kind reply.
