Even though this would not be the most appropriate place/forum to discuss this topic...But since it is affecting everyday life of every normal Indian citizen, I would love to get a spiritual perspective on this topic.
So for the past 4-5 years, I have seen a political divide in the name of religion and it just keeps to be increasing every day. The ruling party is trying to divide people in the name of religion and just keeps on spreading propaganda in every possible way...be it through movies like Kerala Files, Dhurandar, etc OR through the mainstream media which has been hijacked like anything and just giving biased views. Politics seems to have entered in every sphere of life including sports like cricket. Actually, even hatred in the name of religion has entered in the minds of ordinary men. These politicians do not seem to have any interest in Hindu religion as such and they are just trying to divide people for their own personal benefit. Also, somehow people think that by being anti-Muslim and by supporting the current ruling party, they are kind of being a loyal Hindu.
Even though from a spiritual perspective, I understand that external things like politics should not matter...but it has become so toxic these days, that it is almost unavoidable.
I think that even from a Bhagavad Gita perspective, Krishna would not like human beings to be divided ...as per ...Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender to me.. Here as per my understanding "all religion" would also include "so-called Hindu religion" (as it is actually Sanatana Dharma)
While I understand that politics has always been very bad, such low level has never been seen before.
Please let me know your thoughts and what is the best way to handle such things. Hare Krishna !!

HDG srila bhaktisiddhant sarasvati thakura Prabhupada used to say "politicians change, politics remains same". Earlier Britishers used divide and rule . After "freedom" we thought now we are free, but in reality every leader in one way or other doing the same thing.
When srila bhaktisiddhant sarasvati Prabhupada told srila Prabhupada --the first time they met-- that you may preach to foreign lands , srila Prabhupada said that "we are not independent nation , no one will listen to us". Srila bhaktisiddhant sarasvati Prabhupada replied that "independence is never possible, we are always dependent - dependent on krishna".
Every leader will try to fill their pockets , they will use any means like dividinf in name of relegion, caste, sex, face, etc. But since we are taught that we are not the body , we are soul , we shall avoid such stuff.
Of course you hard this , everyone in this nation does, but we can't do anything to influence it, so why entertain this thought.
While I understand that politics has always been very bad, such low level has never been seen before.- srila Prabhupada warned us , that in this World were shudra gives vote to another shudra , in this so called democracy, we cannot expect any prosperity or peace.

First of all, know your identity. What are you?
Your identity is YOU BELONG TO KRISHNA. You are property of Krishna.
When you are deluded from this idenity you are thinking you are Indian, American, Chineese japanees and with that identity you are involving in the polictics of the land.
I know it is very hard to think you belong to Krishna. It is because you are idenifying with the body.
Get back to original consicousness you will understand this all world drama is which is done by the politicians and others fights are just like some cinema going in front of your eyes. You will feel seperated from this worldly things.
I am hindu, I am muslim I am sanatani.. I am indian... I am that this.. nothing is yours here.
Your only identity is you are part and parcel of Krishna.

Thank you for your response....Just as a followup, could you please comment if we have any responsibility of speaking up against wrong as a human being
e.g. In the recent Mohammad Deepak case, since he stopped people from Bajrang Dal from attacking an elderly Muslim man, do you think we should support such people who stand against wrong/anti-social elements

would you suggest that we entirely ignore such things and focus only on Krishna?
If my neighbor is a poor old muslim guy and he has never done any harm to others in the neighborhood since as long as I knew him. And some hindu tries to attack the person who is simply doing his regular job. I would surely oppose. As a Krishna devotee I know all belong to Krishna. Even if that elderly muslim is unaware of the fact..I know very well that he also belongs to Krishna as much as I. I maybe hated by the hindus but as a human I would save the life of the elderly muslim.
My main aim is ultimately to have compassion for all humanity as all of it belongs to Krishna. Krishna made humans and humans made different religions.
I wish one day all become Krishna consicouss and follow one faith ( Vaishnavism) one scripture ( BG) and one God ( Sri Krishna).

complete baseless allegations on the ruling government by the corrupt and traitor indi alliance parties. It is clearly ulta chor kotwal ko datein kinda thing.
Without watching the Kerala files and Dhurandar how can you and the opposition parties reach to any conclusion? Dhurandar is purely an entertainment movie. I see only love and brotherhood ever since Modi ji has come into power.
You need to think with an unbiased mind and not blindy believe in indi alliance netas and spokesperson. That's the best way to handle such things

It is capable of affecting a person's life only because that person has allowed it to affect. The more a person gives attention, energy, time & consciousness to such distractions, the more that person will be affected. This is the way material world is designed. Most people will not compete/stand in elections, so why bother.

The best way is to avoid such things. There is no need to handle such things for more than 99% of people in general. It is much easier to avoid these than we think.
We should instead give our attention, energy, time & consciousness to the most attractive person - Sri Krsna. We should focus the rare human form of life in surrendering to Sri Krsna by meditating on the Holy names of
