I have a steady job but I am totally exhausted both physically and mentally every day. I am only interested in eating and sleeping. Right now, I am able to give donations to ISKCON projects which I really enjoy. However, if I accept a pay cut and get a less stressful job perhaps I will be able to chant 16 rounds a day again. But I would hate to have to cut down on my donations to ISKCON. So I am not sure what to do. ISKCON needs donations. What should I do?

  • at moment do what is easy*** for you if you feel quitting job and still you can maintain lifestyle then its fine

from your profile it seems you are senior person and doing two jobs ... it will affect your health surely and with this condition it is impossible to do KC

else better continue the way you are doing and make gradual changes such as save some money and make long term plan .

ask mentor or financial guide till what you can earn so then you can move to low cost country and live peacefully.

I will be starting my new job in July. I prayed to Lord Krishna about it and he found me a new job.  I received good advice here too. I kept  hoping and hoping that things would get better at my present job but they just kept getting worse. Yes, I am an old senior lady and one job is enough for me. Thanks for your good advice.

We are in Purushottam month. Please give up your current job and take up harinam kirtan and japa asap.

You get x1000 benefit of Kartik month.

        Mataji dont waste your time.

        Blessings

Yes I will be leaving my job at the end of this month. My new job schedule will allow me to go to Harinam every week on Friday nights. During Football season, I will also be able to go to all of the  Harinams on Saturdays too! It will be so nice to be able to go all the time to  Harinam!!! I love Harinam! Yes, and Japa too!  Thanks for your blessings!

  • Update: Thanks again Rashmi Khaitan for your great advice. I went to a job interview today and am hoping that I will get this new job. If I get this new job, I will be able to spend 2 days a week with devotees. Right now, I only spend 2 days a month with devotees. Yes, there is no compromise. I must  chant 16 rounds a day period.

    Hare KRsna dear Pandora mataji,

    PAMHO.

It is a very noble thought that you have to earn more so that you can donate more to ISKCON, but is that your aim in life? What is your goal in life? Will donating to ISKCON alone ensure spiritual progress?

ISKCON may need donations and you may have the good intentions of giving and are giving, but it should not be done at the cost of your sadhana. You have to chant your rounds. If your work is too hectic to allow you to chant 16 rounds everyday and follow the 4 regulative principles, then pls change your job so taht you can do this barest minimum. There should be no compromise on these 2 - chanting and 16 and following 4. The rest wil follow.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Rashmi

Thank you for your good advice. I want to get a new job but I am fearful about it. Things in the work place  have become so very  strict these days. I have heard of many "good nurses" getting fired for making just  a minor mistake. So there's a part of me that is afraid of leaving my present job. I will pray for courage.
