Should we do fasting on navratri? My mother is forcing me to do so, but I don't know whether i should or not.

Do any fasting for any demigod but the main intention for fasting should be to get Krishna bhakti.
You can ask devi maa to give you Krishna bhakti and fast.
Demigods can be pleased easily but what you desire is most important.
If you desire car, banglow or something like marriage or job etc... you will be revolving in circles in maya nagri all the time.
But rarely anyone asks for Krishna bhakti from devi maa.
Yogamaya and mahamaya both are Krishna's energies only.
fast for her but ask boon from her to give you Krishna prema.
