Should I listen to my parents on spiritual matters?

Hare Krishna to all the devotees

All glories to srila Prabhupada

I wanted to join an online bhagwat Gita classes given by one brahmachari devotee of iskcon delhi, but my mother doesn't want me to do so.

But I want to join it, so should I listen to my mother and don't enroll in classes or should I enroll by going against her.

    • Hare Krishna mataji

I know this but now do I explain it to my parents.

Also can you tell me what should I do about the onion garlic situation, any suggestions?

      • keep chanting. One day you will get over all things which are impediments for growing in bhakti.

  • your mother is against online classes but not against hard copy gita study?

will make more sense if she is against both.

that tells that you are already working against her wishes by secretely studying the hard copy.

so isn't your question a quest for rationalizing your actions?

    • Well she is against the classes because of she think they will brainwash me and that then I will not study and so on. She thinks ISKCON is some foreign organisation, I don't where she got and it or who is feeding this into her 😭

  • Hare Krishna,

Until you are under the guidance of you mother, father you must listen to your parents. Till then do self study of Gita. If you have questions come and ask here.

When you start earning and leading a life of your own you you could start doing as per what you decide is good for you.

As you are a small kid now, you must listen to elders and do as per their instructions.

    Hare Krishna
