One time Krishna said to Shiva that He didn't like dealing with foolish demons and He'd appreciate it if Shiva would take charge of them. Then, as explained by Mihir, Shiva "...elevates them to higher consciousness."
    • hare krishna to all ,

thanks for sparing time to answer my query. it is said that we shoulld try to follow in the foot steps of the great devotees. If Shiva is the greatest vaishnav and we are trying to be vaishnavs, how should we decide which of their practices should be followed and which not.

  • Hare Krishna mataji,

Lord Shiva is another manifestation of the supreme personality of Godhead Krishna.

As river Ganges is of highest order of perfection among rivers in the same way Lord Shiva is of the highest order of perfection among the Vaishnavs.

Lord Shiva is a pure vegetarian and has drunk the most poisonous intoxicant (halahal poison) just to save the entire Universe.

Devotees of Shiva mistook it and they started offering meat and intoxicant to him.

Although it sinful, but slowly in several lifes to come their soul will be elevated enough to be accepted by Krishna Consciousness.

The same thing is supported by Bhagwat Gita also that Lord Krishna says"i exist in heart of every being and enhance their devotion towards any God or Demigod so that in several life to come the soul becomes so elevated that it can surrender unto me and become liberated."

Hope it was of some help.

    YS Shekhar.
