    Hare Krsna,

    PAMHO.

Lord Shiva requested Lord Vishnu to show the Mohini form again and got bewildered, running behind Mohini form like a lusty mad man, and finally HariHar was born.

Why would Lord Shiva send someone to deskin Lord Nrisimha. Wherever do you get all this from? The Gods are not fighting among themselves, why there is so much confusion in our minds?

Lord Shiva has been recognised and accepted as foremost vaishnava.

I have never heard this story of Sharaba that you mentioned. You think it is so easy to kill Lord Nrisimha? Is Lord Shiva wearing the face of lion, or hide of lion? Please stick to revealed scriptures and follow them only.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Radha Rasamayi DD

PS : Like Bharat prabhu confirmed, if you want to think Lord Shiva is SUpreme, none of us have any issue. But this story cannot be authentic - there is no account of any demigod killing any avatar or even Lord Vishnu killing or harming any avatar/ demigod. Sanatan Dharma is all about giving respect to all life forms, what to speak of upper planetary systems and spiritual world.

Why did Lord Shiva took Sharabha avatar to fight Lord  Narsimha

Please provide the exact scriptural reference for this incident from authentic vedic scriptures.

This thing is mentioned in many scriptures as i quoted below -:

The Shiva Purana mentions: After slaying Hiranyakashipu, Narasimha's wrath threatened the world. At the behest of the gods, Shiva sent Virabhadra to tackle Narasimha. When that failed, Shiva manifested as Sharabha. The Shiva Purana and some Puranas mention Sharabha attacking Narasimha and immobilising him. He thus quelled Narasimha's terrifying rage.[19][20] It is also said that Sharabha then decapitated and de-skinned Narasimha so Shiva could wear the hide and lion-head as a garment.[1][9][21] The Linga Purana and the Sharabha Upanishad also mention the mutilation and murder of Narasimha. After the mutilation, Vishnu assumed his normal form and retired to his abode, after duly praising Shiva. It was from here on that Shiva came to be known as "Sharabeshamurti" or "Simhagnamurti".[10][21]

      Pls help me understand this

I do not see the reference of which shloka of which Purana has been mentioned above. But please  consider the following shlokas from Srimad Bhagavtam

        vaṁ surādayaḥ sarve
        brahma-rudra-puraḥ sarāḥ
        nopaitum aśakan manyu-
        saṁrambhaṁ sudurāsadam

The great saint Nārada Muni continued: The demigods, headed by Lord Brahmā, Lord Śiva and other great demigods, dared not come forward before the Lord (Narasimha), who at that time was extremely angry. ( SB 7.9.1)

        śrī-rudra uvāca
        kopa-kālo yugāntas te
        hato ’yam asuro ’lpakaḥ
        tat-sutaṁ pāhy upasṛtaṁ
        bhaktaṁ te bhakta-vatsala

Lord Śiva said: The end of the millennium is the time for Your anger. Now that this insignificant demon Hiraṇyakaśipu has been killed, O my Lord, who are naturally affectionate to Your devotee, kindly protect his son Prahlāda Mahārāja, who is standing nearby as Your fully surrendered devotee. ( SB 7.8.41)

So as given above Lord Siva was not enemical to Lord Narasimha.

Also consider the following Shloka narrated by Lord Shiva himself to his son in Skanda Purana.

        shiva-shastreshu tad grahyam

        bhagavac-chastra-yogi yat

        paramo vishnur evaikas

        taj jnanam moksha-sadhanam

        shastranam nirnayas tv

        eshas tad anyan mohanaya hi

The statements of the Saiva scriptures should be accepted only when they agree with the Vaishnava scriptures. Lord Vishnu is the only Supreme Lord, and knowledge of Him is the path to liberation. That is the conclusion of all the scriptures. Any other conclusions are meant only to bewilder the people.

Hope the above references are helpful. Please note none of us here has any problem if someone wants to worship Siva as the Supreme.
