we are going to die some day, we are going to take birth again, get diseases, become old, and again die. the process repeates. now whatever you do materially  between each lifespans is completly wasted only your sadhana goes into your bank account and carries to your next life and stays with you eternally alsong as you stay in this material universe.

so we have to practice devotional service ,we have got a human path to attain and realize krishna ,this sankirtana  movement of chaitanya mahaprabhu is like the cresent jevel take advantage of it and benefit immensely . who knows what next  birth we might get. so dont waste a minite , a second . engage yourself in kirtan mela kirtans ,do japa ,visit the local iskcon temple, take prasad , read prabhupada books.

you have to realize since we are going to die some day i should spractice devotional servuice to immortalize myself and go back to godhead .

nāyaṁ bhūtvā bhavitā vā na bhūyaḥ

    na hanyate hanyamāne śarīre

    Word for word:

na — never; jāyate — takes birth; mriyate — dies; vā — either; kadācit — at any time (past, present or future);na — never; ayam — this; bhūtvā — having come into being; bhavitā — will come to be; vā — or; na — not; bhūyaḥ — or is again coming to be; ajaḥ — unborn; nityaḥ — eternal; śāśvataḥ — permanent; ayam — this; purāṇaḥ — the oldest; na — never; hanyate — is killed; hanyamāne — being killed; śarīre — the body.

    Hare Krsna dear Mataji,

    PAMHO.

There is only one thing certain about life and that is death. Regardless of what happens or does not happen in each person's life, one thing is certain - that the person has to die one day. So the question arises, why live? The answer, as I have understood it, is that one lives to perfect this human life by rendering devotional service to the lord such that one attains perfection. A devotee continues to do devotional service even in the spiritual world. Its not that when one reaches the spiritual world, he stops devotional service. Therefore, to render devotional service, one needs life. Soul needs a body which it uses to re establish and perfect its relationship with the Supreme Lord.

On the flip side, one cannot stop living simply because one has to die one day. It is also not appropriate that one sommits suicide simply because one has to die. Then what to do? Then we should make the best of a bad bargain and try to perfect our devotion in this birth itself.

I hope I have been able to explain somewhat.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

    Rashmi

    Hare Krsna

This is the most important question of life - Death

This is beautifully answered by Lord Krsna in BG 2nd chapter. Krsna says

Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.(BG 2.12)

This means the understanding of death as end of everything as we know is not the end of our existence. Then comes the question

    What is death ?

As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change. (BG 2.13)

Krsna says death is nothing but change of phase for soul. Like we have different phases of life, but whatever phase of life I am in I am still the same person "me".

    Who/ what is me ?

That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul.(BG 2.17)

The living force in the body is soul. It is the true source of consciousness - soul.

    Soul does not die

For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.(BG 2.20)

If soul does not die, then what is life and death all going on ?

As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.(BG 2.22)

I change many dresses. But in every dress I wear, I am "me". I am not the dress. The dress is different from me.

Similarly body is an external covering on the soul. But the soul thinks that it is the body.

Like I was born as small, now I am big. So I have grown.

But Krsna says NO. The body has grown. You are still the same unchanged entity soul.

Why should the soul have covering of body ?

Soul need not have the covering. But soul has accepted the covering and thinks body as itself. Like if someone punches my face, then I will retaliate why did U punch me. So harm to my body is as good as harm to me.

This is the misidentification of the soul, thinking itself as body

When the soul realizes that I am not the body, then the covering will be gone.

How to get rid of this this bodily identification ?

    By chanting Hare Krsna -

    Hare Krsna Hare Krsna

    Krsna Krsna Hare Hare

    Hare Rama Hare Rama

    Rama Rama Hare Hare

Krsna will clear our bodliy mis-identification and we will revive our true identity of being soul - part and parcel of Krsna and serve Krsna happily in the spiritual world.

So coming to the question what is the use of life when we will die ?

Life is an opportunity for soul to clear mis-identification with body and revive our original relationship with Krsna. Soul can take different bodies - animal, plant, bird, fish etc. It is likely that we have all taken these forms

But it is only in human body can we realize our true identity. SO human form of life is the greatest opportunity to revive our relatioship with Krsna. SO we should try to optimally utilize this wonderful opportunity called life and chant Hare Krsna

    Hare Krsna
