Hare Krishna dear devotees!

Please Accept my Humble Obeisances. All Glories to Guru & Sri Gauranga. All Praises to Srila Prabhupada and All the Vaisnavas

I am caught in some bizzare confusion lately, regarding our past sins and their results after entering the path of bhakti. Please accept my sincere apologies in advance if this query is nonsensical.

I would like to know about the consequences of enaging in illicit sex before starting to strictly practice Krishna Consciousness and later realizing the grave sin committed in the mode of ignorance.

Can the devotee still be purified with the process of bhakti, by chanting 16 rounds and following the 4 regulative principles?

Can the devotee be married to another devotee as per vedic customs?

Can the Garbhadhāna Samskara still be performed to beget Krishna Conscious children and not varna-sankara (unanted progeny)?

Please clear these doubts.

Hare Krishna.

YIS,

MD

When one takes to devotional service, however, all phases of sinful life, including prarabdha (refers to sinful reactions from which one is suffering at the present), aprarabdha (refers to sources of potential suffering) and bija (when the seeds of sinful reactions have not yet fructified), are vanquished. In Srimad-Bhagavatam (11.14.19) Lord Krsna tells Uddhava:

"My dear Uddhava, devotional service in relationship with Me is like a blazing fire that can burn to ashes all the fuel of sinful activities supplied to it."

In the Padma Purana there is a statement that persons whose hearts are always attached to the devotional service of Lord Visnu are immediately released from all the reactions of sinful life. When devotional service is present in one's heart, desires to perform sinful activities have no place there. Sinful life is due to ignorance, which means forgetfulness of one's constitutional position as an eternal servant of God, but when one is fully Krsna conscious he realizes that he is God's eternal servant.

    Hare KRsna mataji,

    PAMHO.

To add to what the others have already pointed out, I have heard senior devotees say - devotee doesnt have a past, he has only future. His future is bright.

The idea is to repent for past deeds and purify ourselves by chanting 16 rounds and following 4 regulative principles.

There have been many great devotees who had performed severe sinful activities before being intriduced to Bhakti. Examples - Valmiki Rishi, Jagai-Madhai, Ajamila, Mrigari etc. The fire of bhakti can completely eradicate all the consequences of previous sinful activities. The following shloka is receited by Yamaraja, who is the powerful punisher of sinful people.

    etāvatālam agha-nirharaṇāya puṁsāṁ
    saṅkīrtanaṁ bhagavato guṇa-karma-nāmnām
vikruśya putram aghavān yad ajāmilo ’pi
    nārāyaṇeti mriyamāṇa iyāya muktim

Therefore it should be understood that one is easily relieved from all sinful reactions by chanting the holy name of the Lord and chanting of His qualities and activities. This is the only process recommended for relief from sinful reactions. Even if one chants the holy name of the Lord with improper pronunciation, he will achieve relief from material bondage if he chants without offenses. Ajāmila, for example, was extremely sinful, but while dying he merely chanted the holy name, and although calling his son, he achieved complete liberation because he remembered the name of Nārāyaṇa. Yes

Marriage is union between two families. If the families, elders have agreed and blessed , it is possible.

    Yes
