New Mobile Friendly Krishna Website www.krishna.mobi

Hare Krishna!

I was here before as Pankaja Dasa or Punkech, but I was away for a while. I hope I have changed a little. I was dabbling with website creation on Linux (what a painful experience, haha!) for about three weeks, and it was filled with headaches.

I decided to create a website for the Krishna book that I'm currently reading. I aimed to make it mobile-friendly, allowing for swiping through the text. The book is essentially split into swipable paragraphs, which makes it much easier to read, and you can also track your progress at the footer, showing it as 2/26 (paragraphs).

While I was converting the files (which just happened to be the original books of Prabhupada), I missed the intro and preface, so I decided to leave those out for now and include them later. Even though we might not admit it, we often just want to dive right in (I don't think I've ever read the introduction properly because I'm very impatient). However, if we are familiar with Prabhupada's books, we tend to skip over the introductions anyway. I will add them later.

This site is literally only three days old, so feel free to provide feedback (positive only, please). You can check it out at krishna.mobi. It works best on mobile phones or tablets, where you will see that it looks very nice. You can also change the font size.

I have done the Bhagavatam, but it is mostly for testing to see if it works well: krishna.mobi/books/sb.

I would like to use the website if it was audio recorded page to page reading from intro to the end. for all the bookslaughing

    1. i would like to know how is this any different from vedasbase. (Just for clarity)
    2. if we are familiar with Prabhupada's books, we tend to skip over the introductions anyway. - I would like you to elucidate this for me , please.
    3. feel free to provide feedback (positive only, please)- by positive only, do you mean only Good things about the site but no criticism about where it lacks and can be improved? I am right? . (i know that when you try to build something and someone faults finds , it feels very sad, but I don't think  anyone here will undermine your seva, so be relaxed, somepleople might give you what it lacks and how to improve, but that is only for improvement not for contemotion or mockery)

I understand that you are trying to make it better than other versions, and that you are ready to take in account the criticism too, that is good.

But I would still like to hear the answer of question 2.

Thank you for your hard work for people of this age requires this.

        Hare Krishna

        • yes i thought that.. i m adding preface and intro to all books

      • Are you the developer of this web application?

    • The website could be made into an Android application later, too. It reads per paragraph, and you can see the progress bar in the footer. It's much easier to read than other versions, I feel (if you prefer it that way).
