Hare Krishna devotees, Glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I am new to iskcon but I don't know my mind gets more attached to Lord Vishnu than Lord Krishna. I think my heart wants to follow dasya rasa to Lord Vishnu but I also want my heart to follow sakhya ras to Lord Krishna, Should I chant Om Namo Narayan more or Hare Krishna Mantra more, right now my mind gets more attracted to Lord Vishnu and very little bit to Lord Krishna. Can't a soul change its swarupa because Vaikuntha only has Dasya rasa but not sakhya ras, I want both. How should I do my sadhna.
Thanks devotees and please answer my humble question.

Hare Krishna,
Pls. don't chant Om Namo Narayana without getting initiated from a guru from Sri Vaishnavism.
Om mantras are not nama mantras. These type of mantras cannot be chanted at anytime of the day in any situation.
Like a Nama Mantra ( mahamantra) can be sung at anytime of the day even when you came out of bathroom and you are unclean state or when a person is dying or if there is some sutaka going on at home. Unless you clean your home and unless you do all ritual bhakti practices like cleaning home, and cleaning the pooja room taking bath and laying down an asana and tulasi beeds above all getting initiated from a guru maharaj .. you are not allowed to simply chat Om Namo Narayana or Om namo bhagvate Vasudevaya mantras. These are to be initiated by a guru.
Mahamantra has no restrictions as such. At any time of the day or at any avastha or state without any conditions you can chant. Simple and easy way no complex procedures required . This is requires not an initiation also .. Anyone can take the holy names of Lord. As in the age of Kaliyuga we are not maintaining cleanliness outwardly and inwards. We are not perfect for us Only MAHAMANTRA is enough to cross the oceans of nescience.
If your heart loves and feels attachement for Lord Sri Vishnu than Krishna form. That is okay. You can get initiated into Sri Vaishnavism.
"Can't a soul change its swarupa because Vaikuntha only has Dasya rasa but not sakhya ras, I want both. How should I do my sadhna. "
Why can't?
Who said there is only dasya rasa in Vaikuntam?
there were great devotees of Lord Sri Narayana who were also attracted to His form and had madhurya Rasa ... Like Andal ( who is an alwar) like our goswami.. She developed madhurya rasa from the start of her life towards Sri Ranganathan. She finally got married to Lord. Look at her poetry. You will realize she directed all the poetry to nanda gopala Kumaran ( son of Shree Nanda Gopal). .. all here poetry is filled with lots of love and bhava for Krishna.
There was a Bibi Nanchari who developed attchement and love for Lord Srinivasa and who was a Muslim and she was a little princess who started to develop love for Lord Sri Narayana and got married to Lord Sri Venkateshwara. Many others too. But Lord's majestic aishwarya swaroopa with all his weapons makes us surrender to HIM more.. Rarely one will develop Love for Lord in that Aishwaraya roopa. Dasya bhi koi mamooli baat nahi hai.. Surrender is first step that is required even to develop Sakhya rasa.
Any one can develop any type of rasa to any form of Lord. I don't think there restriction. You will get both.
I am Sri Vaishnavaite by birth. I got attracted to Lord Krishna more then Sri Narayana. ( my biggest problem was not able to accept Lord Sri Narayan because he seemed so wealthy) I wanted a simple god who just loves us simply. Just as Lord Sri Krishna even accepted the Banana peels given by Vidhura's wife... and Lord Rama simply eat the Joote ber ( the tasted berries ) offered by Shabari.. I felt God must be of that types.. Not like a rich man and with Lots of Gold and armor with astra shastra... etc. But very lately I understood all are one and the same.
But Krishna simple attitude how He treated his devotees and gave same importance as Himself. It attracted me most. Like when you see how HE recieved Sudhama... Being in a kingly position also he sat at the feet of Sudhama and served him. It moved me a lot. I also felt the way HE being a Supreme Personality of Godhead.. still was taking beatings by gopi's and How He climbed on his baal gopal friends to get the butter out of the pot... How HE gave Piggy back ride to His loved devotee friends It attracted me ..very much. Though a Sri Vaishanavite by birth... I was never developing any attachement for Lord Venkateshwara until late in life I realized all are Lord's swaroopa only.
I felt God should someone so simple not behaving like godly manner....... dominating
..Mai bhagwan hoon tum sab mere das ho... types. Tho humko bhagwan samaj nahi aata tha.. pehle
Krishna came to me and I understand Bhagwan aise hona chahiye.
tab jaake later pata chala ki.. Bhagwan aise bhi hote hai.. Aishwarya swaroop mein. Then It started making sense to me.
I hurt my Lord Venkateshwara Swami too for which I am guilty but I know He made me fall in love with HIM in another form.
My relatives used to take me to Lord Vishnu temples as they are all Sri Vaishnavites.. I used to do a pranama dandavat just like that without any feelings... Haan bhagwan hai.. karke ek pranam karungi ...aisa hota tha mere mann mein ..so Lord approched me In Krishna's form to make me realize that I love HIM in that form.
Dasya Rasa also is great.
Why do you feel bad?
Vaikuntham is not a 2 star hotel and Golakam is not a 5 star hotel.
All are equally great.
Sakhya rasa mein thora bhagwan ko bhagwan nahi apnapan dikhayi padhega .. I cannot just do Dasya and be at His feet but I can even put my arm on HIS shoulder and call HIM as a friend.
It is a just a difference in bhava..
We go to Vaikuntha but as soon as our bhava establishes and we feel more and more into Sakhya rasa.. we get transported to that level.
Initially we must have dasya rasa only that is always better.
For me it is ulta ( reverse ) i came to dasya after Loving Krishna :-)
Arjuna surrender is told in BG from 2.4 verse till 2.9 verse before He got to Sakhya rasa also.. You must first surrender to Lord. Dasya is first basic step. After Dasya after a long time you might get Sakhya level when you keep chanting with Nishta. These are just steps in bhakti. The highest topmost being Madhurya Rasa.
Hare Krishna.
What about when we are changing only "om", do we have to follow these rules then too?
hmm yes
Hare Krsna Mataji

Mataji Could you please provide a reference for the above statement from vaishnava scriptures

adīkṣitasya vā mantrā na siddhiṁ kurvanti karhicit puṣpāṇy eva hy adīkṣitāḥ patanti madhupān iva
“For one who is uninitiated, mantras never bear fruit; they are like flowers that fall before reaching the deity.”
Hari-bhakti-vilāsa 3.45–48:
aśucir na japet mantrān na devān arcayet kvacit snātvā śucir bhaved bhūyo japet pūjāṁ ca kārayet
One should not touch the mālā when unclean, nor drop it from the hand. One should move the mālā, situated on the thumb, with the front of the middle finger.

One cannot achieve the results of chanting the mantra if one does it while talking, walking, lying down to sleep, remembering something else, or with a mind that is afflicted by hunger, laziness, crying etc. Therefore, one should strive [to do japa while avoiding these].

Translation
One should first purify his body by cleansing his teeth and bathing. Then one should perform a second cleansing by smearing the body with earth and chanting both Vedic and tantric mantras.
Vedānta Deśika – Śrī Pāñcarātra Rakṣā (Verse 24–27)
“Aśuddha-śarīreṇa mantrasya japo niṣphalaḥ …
Śuddha-deha-manaḥ kāryo mantra-japaḥ prapannaiḥ.”
“If the body is impure, mantra-japa bears no fruit.
Mantra-recitation must be done with bodily and mental purity by those who have surrendered.”
“Cleanliness is essential for advancement in spiritual life. In the performance of devotional service, one has to observe cleanliness externally and internally.
For deity worship especially, one must be very clean in body, dress, and mind.” ( Nectar of Devotion Chapter 7)
“So this Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra you can chant anywhere, anytime, in any condition of life — no restriction. But other mantras, Vedic mantras, require initiation, cleanliness, and so many rules.
Therefore Caitanya Mahāprabhu has recommended simply chant the holy name — Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare / Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare.” (Lecture, Bombay, April 6, 1974)
“Cleanliness is next to godliness. Actually, in all Vedic literature cleanliness is very much stressed.
Therefore, one should take bath at least twice daily, once in the morning and again in the evening, and should wash hands and mouth after eating.
In this way one can be clean.
Generally, brāhmaṇas and Vaiṣṇavas follow this principle of cleanliness.
Those who are actually following the rules and regulations of devotional service are expected to be clean in body and mind.” ( NOD chapter 7)
A mantra is purified when chanted with proper knowledge, and one’s work is purified when offered to Me. Thus by purification of the place, time, substance, doer, mantras and work, one becomes religious, and by negligence of these six items one is considered irreligious. ( SB 11.21. 15)

Hare Krishna Mataji
I don't think it is by coincidence that you mentioned sloka number SB 11.12.15 because I believe nothing happens by coincidence.
The Translation of the sloka SB 11.12.15 you posted does not match what is actually mentioned in SB 11.12.14-15. I went through the Translation of the sloka SB 11.12.14-15 as mentioned in the books. I was actually amazed to read the real Translation of the Sloka. I felt that Lord Sri Krishna was speaking to me through you.
Please forgive me if I have offended you in any way.

SB 11.21.15
I have typed wrongly instead of 21 i typed as 12.
“apavitra kāro nagnaḥ sirasi pravṛto’pi vā / pralāpan vā japet yāvat tavān niṣphalam ucyate” ( Hari Bhakti vilas17.132) — “If one does japa in an impure condition, naked, with head covered/uncovered, in chatter, then it is said to be fruitless.”
Impure conditions are - during death in a family, during sutaka time during menses in females or after child birth, during eclipses.. these phases of life are considered impure. usually all ritual bhakti is temporarily paused for some time. After that is over then we must clean our homes, wash all the pooja articles and pooja MANTRA ( Om mantras) can be resumed back. So, many cleanliness things are considered in Sri Vaishnavism ... If you have to take the age old mantras of Satyuga... ( which Dhruva and Prahalada have taken) they are to be taken only guru's guidance and following some ritual practices properly.
Hare Krsna Mataji
Please accept my humble obeisances
Isn't mindfulness in chanting of mahamantra also of prime importance?
One cannot achieve the results of chanting mahamantra also if one does it while talking or remembering something else? Therefore one should strive to do [japa while avoiding these].
One receives a mantra from the mouth of a bona fide spiritual master, who instructs the disciple in the method, meaning and ultimate purpose of the mantra. The bona fide spiritual master in this age gives his disciple the maha-mantra, or holy names of God, Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. One who chants this mantra, considering himself to be the eternal servant of the Lord, gradually learns to chant offenselessly and by such purified chanting quickly achieves the highest perfection of life. The Lord here summarizes His discussion of purity and impurity, which manifest ultimately in religious and irreligious life.
SB PURPORT Of 11.21.15
However, Mataji when I went through the other reference you provided which is SB 11.12.15. It didn't match with what you quoted.
This is what is stated there:
Therefore, My dear Uddhava, abandon the Vedic mantras as well as the procedures of supplementary Vedic literatures and their positive and negative injunctions. Disregard that which has been heard and that which is to be heard. Simply take shelter of Me alone, for I am the Supreme Personality of Godhead, situated within the heart of all conditioned souls. Take shelter of Me wholeheartedly, and by My grace be free from fear in all circumstances.
SB 11.12.14-15
However, I am being compelled to consider these words of Bhagavan Sri Krishna above all else because they seem to be offering the ultimate solution.
I hope I didn't offend you.

I just now read Krishna das prabhu ji
Texts 14-15: Therefore, My dear Uddhava, abandon the Vedic mantras as well as the procedures of supplementary Vedic literatures and their positive and negative injunctions. Looks like Lord wants to say something that Leave all vedic mantras just follow only me.
