Hare Krishna

Pranam to all devotees.

Ladoo Gopal ji has blessed us by coming to our home around five years back. He is kind of fussy about His shringar. We try to dress and decorate Him in a proper manner but as we felt He was small in size - we were not able to do much of chandan seva. as whenever we tried to put chandan on His forhead it will go in his eyes also.....so like we started putting a bit of chandan on His hand.

Now, about a month back, Sri Shaligram ji has blessed us by coming to our home. We are still in the process of learning to decorate Him. For now we have put him in a metal singhasan....we have put a crown and imitation fancy garlands..........we  have put eyes on Him, like we get in any store which keeps diety items.

With Shaligram ji we are able to do chandan seva of our hearts content - we are making His facial other features with a thin paint brush like eyebrows, nose and lips etc with white chandan... also we draw chandan designs for further decoration. Now with the help of brush we are able to do chandan seva of our Ladoo Gopal ji also.....He looks like a groom now :)

The problem is we are doing decoration with white/saffron color chandan ONLY  - but I have seen that people have done decoration in colorful ways...using red, green, yellow .....any kind of color...

please guide me how can we do colorful decoration of dieties.

Like we have seen Lord Krishna in mayapur temple - being decorated with colorful designs on face .... please guide me.

    Hare Krsna Mataji

    PAMHO.

You can use natural colours - like turmeric for yellow, you can make shades by mixing it with gopi chandan, roli or kumkum for red, again you can make shades by mixing with chandan. Green - maybe paste of some leaves - I havent figured that out yet. Black can be kajal. There is something called rakta chandan - reddish in colour - you could use that also. You could use fruit or flower juice - but that will be a long process.

Basically, for the lord, we use natural things which are soft on Him.

    Haribol,

    Your servant,

      Dear Rashmi Mataji,

Thank you :) These ideas are wonderful. I will try them. I have just one concern that the colorful natural materials should not leave any kind of stain/shade on Gopal ji or Shaligram ji. Lets see. I wll provide feedback.

Seems like Gopal ji had made a very patient program for improving the mistakes within my service... as well as a even more patient plan to improve His service. :) For the past two months, He takes bath everyday. I have told Him to rectify myself such that He gets a loving service.

as u asked .... even im having a small cute ladoo gopal in my home.. for him  i use gopi(wat we apply to our forhead)i use srigandh,i have jewelary... for him... peock leave and all...use only sacred colors, like saffron(keasri),srigandh, kesari, kasturi, gopi ... do not use any normal colors... because..he is sacred his  belongings should also be sacred...dont keep use things...(generally no one does it)...
