Hare Krishna Abhilasha Tripati Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada! as i remember my own life before KC:
--some days i was happy if everything is ok with this body: health...
--but most days i was unhappy to sit and study my school subjects, i used to ran from the lessons.
--sometimes could see how parents are fighting with each other. For a child it was really horrible to see.
--i loved to much my mother and wanted her all the time to be with me. but Soviet Union days were horrible, poverty, exploitation, everyone should work very hard in order to maintain their family.
--i loved my father, but sometimes was afraid that someone will kill him or such like worries.
--i liked my family, but really was afraid to loose even one member from it.
--sometimes in my childhood seeing all these suffering i wanted to sleep and never ever wake up, to emerge into emptiness.
--i suffered from ear aches, i thought this is forever, and suffered very much.
--i used to take care of little dogs, but sometimes someone used to steal them, separation hurt me too much.
--i had a big desires in my education, but desires did not fulfilled. that time i was in the stage of madness.
--sometimes some people used to rude to me, i used to become unhappy, heart broken.
--sometimes as i was playing chess, used to loose my games, that seemed to me as if it was the END of my life.
--i did not like to wake up early mornings at 4 and go to my school to another city, but forced my self.
--i saw my grand mother on her dead bead, everybody was shedding tears. it seemed that i also some day will be on that bead and it hurt me too much.
BUT one day i achieved all my material desires. Everything i had was there.
But emptiness entered into my heart.
why even thou i am not happy???????
from that day my journey to God had began.

Bhagavad Gita opened my eyes! Srila Prabhupada and all the Devotees who distributed Books saved my life!
i can not repay for this anyhow. even i fully give myself into the service of Guru and Krishna it won't be the price. Thank You for this question! It remind me my previous life and how much grateful should be to every day in KC.
