ISKCON Desire Tree - Devotee Network

Connecting Devotees Worldwide - In Service Of Srila Prabhupada

Hare Krshn revered devotees!

All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I'm in a very confusing state while reading to Beyond Birth & Death. I started and while reading somehow i started searching online about topics like "Whom Shiva Meditates upon?" & later I found that Brahma is the only Supreme. That very moment my confusion started.

I used to know, being from a religious family that Vishnu is in his deep sleep  while conscious and Shiva meditates upon Vishnu being supreme. As its also mentioned many a times by Goswami TulsiDas in his RamCharitManasa.

I also read somewhere that Geeta has been DOCTORED by ISKCON to prove its aim in making Krshn's followers around the globe, which I don't believe knowing Krishna teaches Arjuna about Him be the Supreme.

He, I just recalled smply says, I am the cause of all causes and responsible for the fruits of your all works. Now, he further says that I'm the one who is recalled in YAGNAS and without me they are not complete being the fact that, Krshn is never recalled in any YAGNAS(as far my little knowledge is), only VISHNU is recalled and he is IMPORTANT to be a part of all the YAGNAS.

Also, while reading Sunderkand, a part of RamCharitManas(at the same time around of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu), in the instance when Vibhishana comes tom Lord Ram after being thrown from Lanka, he was stopped by monkeys and Sugreev. Then Lord Ram tells

Now, when Lord Ram is telling that I who's shelter one takes is blessed and even Lord Shiva is telling that everyone who worships none other than RAM is Asura, Ram became ONE and All.

My questions are:

1. Weather Krshn turned to VISHNU while preaching to Arjun?
2. WHo Shiva meditates upon?
3. Who Vishnu meditates upon?
4. Who Bramha meditates upon as he is also in meditation everytime?
5. If Ram is One and All why he is overcome by Krshn?
6. if Krshn is one why only Vishnu is rememebered in YAGNAS?

Please enlighten me. I'm so ignorant to understand the pure deepest knowledge but I'm still trying to survive in this MAYA and devote more to most merciful Krshn.

Thank you.

Hare Krshn!

Let me answer the "Gita question". (If for some reason you don't like Srila Prabhupads translation (not sure why anyone would not like it) you can get a copy of Gita Press version and you will not find the translation very different ). Read the following verse to see why Lord Krishna is Supereme.

Why is Lord Krishna Supreme Personality of Godhead?
http://vedabase.net/bg/10/8/ “I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me.”
http://vedabase.net/bg/7/19/ vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti
http://vedabase.net/bg/10/2/en I am the source of the demigods and sages.
http://vedabase.net/bg/10/42/en With a single fragment of Myself I pervade and support this entire universe.

http://vedabase.net/bg/9/10/en this answers the question why not Durga worship “working under My direction”

Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

PAMHO.

Firstly, ISKCON has NOT doctored Srimad Bhagavad Gita. You can pick up any other version of Gita and see that the shlokas are the same. In fact, there was an instance where one of the earlier disciples had commented that the translation of some shloka is the same as what mayavadis have given. In reply, Srila Prabhupada said that the translation will be the same, it is the purports which differentiates his Gita from other versions of the Gita. This is very commonly stated in lectures in ISKCON.

Secondly, Google is NOT ALL KNOWING. If you turn to google to find out who is God, naturally you will be confused. I dont think there is any doubt that Brahma has appeared from the lotus, the stem of which emanates from the navel of Garbodhakshayi Vishnu. Therefore, Brahma cannot be God. Brahma has said the bhrahmasamhita - isvarah prama krsna sacchidanand vigrahah, anadir adi govinda sarva karanah karanam. Then he proceeds to speak the entire brahma samhita -each shloka ends with Govindam Adi Purusham Tam Aham Bhajami.

Now coming to Shiva - Shiva is the foremost vaishnava, this is mentioned in the Bhagavatam. He is meditating on Krsna/ Visnu.

Visnu is in sleeping posture - that is yoga nidra. There are 3 Vishnus - Karanodakshayi Vishnu, who enters each universe as Garbodhakshayi Visnu. From the navel of Garbodhakshayi Vishnu comes the lotus on which Brahma is born. Ksirodakshayi Vishnu is all prevelant as paramatma in every living and non living being in the universe.

Rama is an incarnation of Krsna. Krsna is the avatari, not an avatar. All the 3 Maha Vishnus come from Krsna. Just think, Rama appeared as the maryada purushottam. Do you think God can be bound in any maryada? His potency is way beyond the imagination of this universe. Rama has lesser qualities than Krsna. I will request someone else to give you the count of number of qualities, will not be able to tell you very clearly. Krsna has 64 qualities, Rama has 60 or 62, Visnu has 58 or 60...

I hope I have been able to clear your doubts somewhat.

Haribol,

Your servant,

Rashmi

Mataji who has said that krsna has krsna has 64 qualities rama 60 n vishnu 58 or 60 please its only gaudiya philosophy please do not generalise.i dont know why gaudiyas break the heart soooooo much do u imagine if a devotee of rama or vishnu sees that what will be his reaction.WE MUST AVOID COMMENTS WHO WILL MAKE US VAISHNAVA APARADHA.

Ksirodakshayi Vishnu is all prevelant as paramatma in every living and non living being in the universe.these visnus only see the working of the universe n is not the one in vaikuntha who is the original from whom all avatars like krsna rama narasimha expands.-sri sampradaya

please read Sri Bramha Samhita, many of your questions will be answered.

Hare Krishna

Only gaudiyas has translated the purports of brahma samhita as krsna to be the original n not all sampradayas.for sri sampradaya brahma samhita is 100 genuine but we believe vishnu to be original n krsna is only an avatar like rama n narasimha.vishnu mean not the one on milk ocean but the one is vaikuntha or spiritual abode.we do not believe in planets is spiritual world. For us there is only the spiritual world n not higher planet or lower planets like gaudiyas view it.For us goloka is higher than vaikuntha.

Spiritual world if unlimited with unlimited numbers of planets.

Because Krishna is Rasabihari. He enjoys in different moods with different types of Devotees.

Gaudiya Vaishnavas do not say Vaikuntha is lesser in importance or quality.

Indeed whole Srimad Bhagavatam explains Vaikuntha as made of original emeralds, golds, diamonds...

Where there are opulent palaces, the most beautiful residents with 4 arms...

There Lord Vishnu enjoys in opulence.

Where as Vrindavan is a very simple place. Where Krishna and His friends roll in grounds, they pasture cows, Krishna sometimes eats dirt, sometimes even steals...

Gopis are so simple that they ask pearls from their mothers. They wear simple sarees and decorations out of forest fruits and flowers.

There are no vimans, no huge palaces of diamond...

So these are the differences.

Devotee of Krishna may desire to serve Krishna in one of such planets. So accordingly Krishna reciprocates.

Krishna has 64 qualities - 4 extra qualities from His own other Forms like Vishnu or Narayana.

1. Krishna plays flute - Lord Vishnu does not, well He may play but He prefers not

2. Krishna is the most beautiful - Lord Vishnu is also so but not as much as Krishna, (But of course for a particular Devotee like Hanuman Lord Ram will be seen as the most beautiful One. So that is also correct.)

3. Krishna has very sweet pastimes. He steals butter, cries....Lord Vishnu usually do not have sweet childhood pastimes or so.

4. Rasa dance.

Your servant

HK Prabhu JI!

My questions are:

1. Weather Krshn turned to VISHNU while preaching to Arjun?
My conclusion :  No, He, Krshn, is the supreme.

2. WHo Shiva meditates upon?

My conclusion :  Krshn

3. Who Vishnu meditates upon?

My conclusion :  YOGNINDRA, means meditation - calm. can you still elaborate please???

4. Who Bramha meditates upon as he is also in meditation everytime?

My conclusion :  He is already surrendered. So upon Krshn he meditates.

5. If Ram is One and All why he is overcome by Krshn?

My conclusion :  RAM says manyawhere, Goswami Tulsidas tellls, Come in my shelter - I will take care of you...

6. if Krshn is one why only Vishnu is rememebered in YAGNAS?

My conclusion :  can you please throw light on it. Since Vishnu is remembered in all the YAGNAS and Krshn in GEETA is saying that I'm the feeder of the YAGNAS and without me YAGNAS can not happen. There is still contradiction...

Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

PAMHO.

There is no contradiction. It is appearing so because you are considering Vishnu to be different from Krsna. Krsna has expanded Himself as Vishnu in each universe. Its like how Prime Minister is the  most powerful in a country, but Chief Minister is powerful in the state. If we can forget the different political parties they belong to, then Chief Minister is the energy of the source Prime Minister. THat way, Vishnu is the local authority. Therefore, He is invoked in all yagnas.

I hope I have been able to explain.

Haribol,

Your servant,

Rashmi

HK Mataji!

Hare Krshn Prabhu! I came to know that particular Vishnu who takes care of this earth gets the fruits of YAGNAS perfoemd in this earh and so ultimate fruit goes reaches to Krshna, the primeval lord.

right Mataji?

Hare Krshn prabhu!
