Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth.
Srila Prabhupada comments in the purport.
The path of spiritual realization is undoubtedly difficult. The Lord therefore advises us to approach a bona fide spiritual master in the line of disciplic succession from the Lord Himself. No one can be a bona fide spiritual master without following this principle of disciplic succession. The Lord is the original spiritual master, and a person in the disciplic succession can convey the message of the Lord as it is to his disciple. No one can be spiritually realized by manufacturing his own process, as is the fashion of the foolish pretenders. The Bhägavatam (6.3.19) says, dharmaà tu säkñäd bhagavat-praëétam: the path of religion is directly enunciated by the Lord. Therefore, mental speculation or dry arguments cannot help lead one to the right path. Nor by independent study of books of knowledge can one progress in spiritual life. One has to approach a bona fide spiritual master to receive the knowledge.
So Abhinav, to get The Truth you must, you must, you must submissively approach Sri Guru with all your questions and render pleasing service then you will get the perfect answers to everything.
As for reading books that is very good and will help you find the guru.
Every where Srila Prabhupada stresses so much the need for the bonafide guru.
Srila Prabhupada said.
"We cannot jump over to Krsna. That is another nonsense. We must approach Krsna through guru. That is paramparä system. Krsna is not so cheap thing that you can jump over.
Somebody says, "Oh, why shall I accept guru? I can approach Krsna directly." No. Krsna does not accept such... Mad-bhaktaù püjäbhyadhikaù. Krsnaa says that "First of all you become devotee of My devotee."
Caitanya Mahäprabhu says, gopi bhartuù pada-kamalayor däsa-däsa-däsänudäsaù: "I am the servant of the servant of the servant of Krsna [Cc. Madhya 13.80]."
This is called paramparä system.
You have to learn how to become servant of the servant of Krsna.
The more you become in the lower position—servant, servant, servant, servant, servant, hundreds times servant, servant—then more you are advanced.
Here in this material world everyone is trying to be master of the master. Just opposite.
And the spiritual world, the endeavor is to become servant's servant. This is the secret."

There are 3 terms -
1.Mahaprabhu (The Supreme Master , Internal Guru)
2.Prabhupada (The Master of Masters , External Guru)
3.Prabhus (Masters)
The Mahaprabhu is always guiding us from inside as Chaitya Guru . Next the Prabhupada (His devine grace) , who is the best currently available option , has answered/revealed everything in His books . It just required careful thorough reading , which becomes as better and better as more you chant the Mahamanttr attentively .
The third helpers and guiders are the Prabhus or Matajis worldwide (actually all the living entities except oneself are ones Prabhu , but still we have to respect but not to follow Karmis, Gyanis and Dhyanis ,, just try to follow ISKCON Devotees only ) . Also we know within devotees there are diff levels .
As you said above , replies from members on IDT depend on their respective level of KC , so therefore , apart discussions you may search Blogs , Audio files , videos also . Or may send Private Message to seniour devotees . I am listening now a days to Bhagavatam lectures given by Vaiyaski Prabhu , thnx to Audio section of IDT .
But at last , my personal suggestion is - Sril Prabhupada . Read Sril Prabhuapada's books . Read Sril Prabhupada's books . Read Sril Prabhupada's books .
