Is Mushroom prohibited to eat?

Please guide, is mushroom prohibited to eat? someone told me that while being a devotee we should not eat it.

        To grow mushroom you keep in the dark. Don't put any light on them. All veges grow best on decomposed manure but they grow in the sun. Mushies are not generally offered to the deities in the temple. Nor in the past was the modern foods we now like so much. In Hong Kong the devotees were permited and in France also they were permitted. Srila Prabhupada was very lenient sometimes. You can eat them. Just get permission from your Gurudev first. Personaly I don't like them. But bread, pasta, pizza, cake and icecream. Thank you Srila Prabhupada!
