  • There was a person from Navadvipa-dhama who used to come to Vamsi das Babaji Maharaja. One day, he thought, "I have the desire to obtain the Supreme Lord. How can I get Bhagavan?" He was only murmuring, speaking to himself, so Babaji Maharaja did not reply. This person came back repeatedly to see Babaji Maharaja. Finally, one day, he approached Maharaja directly.

"What do you want?" Babaji Maharaja asked him.

"I want to see Bhagavan," the man said.

Babaji Maharaja replied with only one word: "Weep!"

  • One should first learn how to attract the Lord, then how to please Him.
Anyway, one should know that Lord is never pleased with partial surrendering to Him. That's why He is not easy to be pleased as people claim. The easiest way is to associate with His true devotees who already waked deep transcendental love for Him, but because they are very rare, even that may become difficult to achieve.
The nine proces of bhakti which start with sravanam will not bring any drastic change in progres, unless one do not achieve the dust from the lotus feet of pure devotees.
Otherwise, one should practice bhakti by avoiding any association and sense gratification, having vision of Lord presence in every living being including himself, and in the mood of renunciation surrender to Lord by living on whats coming on its own accord. In this way, one can progress quickly, especially because of opportunity to shout holy name in a helpless condition.

    • Thanks for your kind reply. Praying for your mercy to clarify below points to this neophyte on this path.

Why should we first learn how to attract the Lord, then how to please Him ?  Next, If we need to focus on attracting Him first - then how do we attract Him ?

Regarding the second option - is not it that we need Lord's help to surrender to Lord (transform of consciousness) ? Then, to get Lord help we need to please Him. I need His help to surrender to Him, because I am trying and failing on this path so far. So I though of finding how to please Him this time.

        Hare Krsna Prabhuji,

        PAMHO.

By approaching a devotee of the lord, serving and pleasing the devotee, one can attract Him.

How to find a devotee - sincere seeker finds. Another reason for finding a pure devotee is one's own sukriti. The third reason is - no reason. Its causeless. Thats why we say mercy is causeless.

  • It is said that Krishna
wants for nothing, nor is He 8n need of anything. Therefore, it stands to reason that we most likly will not be making Him particularly happy by serving Him. His's pleased to see us performing Darma nicly, and getting along well & helping ourselves & others. Intering ISKCON Temple one tastes the experience of simplicity of true Happyness in modesty and in direct connection with Krishna.
I recin this is' all for us!
And the wise will learn to offer it back up* & wash away the un-comfertable delusion that Oneness is the Way" & renounce renunciation as "a vielbul means to a greater good.
Krishna is Unconditionaly loving and forgiving. Why so much effort on sustaining dilushinary relationships? Krishna is exclusively is manythings & vary honest & favorable twords Religion & YOGA. Please God by treating yourself to some Darma if it pleases the Soul?
    • Thanks for your kind reply. Yes, will keep marching towards Krishna through His instructions to me by various means, by hook or by crook, despite failures so far.

    Hare Krsna

Do we need to remember Bg sloka's and act accordingly ?

    Yes

How would I know if Krishna is pleased by my behavior/actions from moment to moment?

Pleasing Krsna is the objective of devotional service. Devotional service is devotion + Service. Any action / behaviour rendered favorably to Krsna can be service. Devotion is more internal to our heart and intentions. So how do we know if we are performing bhakti or not.

    bhaktiḥ pareśānubhavo viraktir

    anyatra caiṣa trika eka-kālaḥ

    prapadyamānasya yathāśnataḥ syus

    tuṣṭiḥ puṣṭiḥ kṣud-apāyo 'nu-ghāsam

Devotion, direct experience of the Supreme Lord, and detachment from other things—these three occur simultaneously for one who has taken shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, in the same way that pleasure, nourishment and relief from hunger come simultaneously and increasingly, with each bite, for a person engaged in eating. (SB 11.02.42)

One may not always feel everything. But as mentioned above - in general detachment from material sense gratification increases. It doesn't mean it material desires will vanish all at once but detachment to material things to some degree will increase. Attachment to Krsna and devotional things increases. There is also increase in level of satisfaction. Again it is hard to monitor all these on a moment to moment to basis.

As far as moment to moment behavior and actions are concerned if not against shastric injunction we can carry them out. Whenever we are performing devotional service we mus put our heart into it and give best possible quality.
