How to study the Srimad Baghavatam

I have heard many vaishnavas saying that the Srimad Bhagavatam is to be read scrutinizingly and the messages are to be practically applied in our life. I want to study the Srimad Bhagvatam in a proper manner. I want to know if i should memorize each and every verse, and listen to classes for each, or just for the important verses. Please guide me on how to go about this.

    Sorry, I completely missed this post. 

    No need to memorise the shloka. What you can do is hear lecture on each shloka, in this website itself. There are different speakers for each shloka. You could hear the lecture for each shloka as you read along.
