" Anyone who faithfully hears or describes the Lord's playful affairs with the young gopis of Vrndavana will attain the Lord's pure devotional service. Thus he will quickly become sober and conquer lust, the disease of the heart. "

  • Hare Krishna Prabhu,

You’re quoting the verse perfectly… but it seems you missed the warning label that comes with it.

Hearing Krishna’s conjugal pastimes conquers lust only for those who actually have bhakti in their heart. Without devotion, people don’t become purified, they just become nosy.

It’s like trying to cure fever by licking the thermometer.

Srimad-Bhāgavatam isn’t a romance novel; it’s a mirror. If someone hears Kṛṣṇa’s intimate pastimes and their mind becomes more disturbed instead of purified, that’s not the fault of the pastimes, it’s the listener’s heart that needs cleaning first.

Only a sincere devotee can hear rāsa-līlā and have lust uprooted. Those who approach it with curiosity or material mentality usually end up getting their own desires exposed, not conquered.

So yes, hearing rāsa-līlā destroys material desire, but only when the ears are devotional, not emotional. Otherwise, it’s just spiritual fire being handled with wet hands. Hari Hari.

    • Like I said, " You assume too much. "

      • Hare Krishna Prabhu,

        “Assumes too much”?

I’m only assuming one thing, that Krishna’s words apply to both of us. If that’s “too much,” then the entire Bhagavad-gītā must be overflowing with assumptions.

You keep saying “what is, is reality,” but the moment someone reflects that back to you, suddenly it becomes “assumption.”

        Convenient, no?

It’s like saying, “My opinion is universal truth, but your reminder of Krishna’s teachings is an assumption.”

Prabhu, I don’t need to assume anything about you. Your own statements already reveal where the ego is sitting — front row, center seat, popcorn in hand.

And that’s fine. We’re all conditioned.

The difference is: some of us admit it, and some loudly claim “no shame, no assumptions, only reality!” while the mind is doing cartwheels in the background.

I’m not assuming too much. You’re just admitting too little. Hari Hari.

        • You are also assuming that I have no bhakti in my heart. That I have no devotion.

This is excellent explanation of love.

    • Flawless narration.

  • Bhagwan jo bhi karte hai Jivon ko Tript karne hetu karte hai.

Unko koi asha trishna nahi hoti

    Isilye woh Krishna kehlaaye.

    Trishna is opposite to Krishna

    • Yes,

The activities of Trishna are opposite to the activities of Krishna.
