Hare Krsna
In almost all temples, whenver the Mangalarati of deities are bring performed, the prayers which are sung are of the deities and for the deities.
Example the famous Suprabhatam prayers are in glorification of Sri Krsna/ Rama/ Vishnu which is sung in Tirumala temple of Lord Sri Venkatesha.
In Iskcon and Gaudiya matt, the morning mangalarati prayer/song is actually glorification of Sri Guru or Srila Prabhupada, but it is meant for the pleasure of the Deities.
This is because when their lordships see that the confidential associate of Sri Krsna the guru , is being glorified by devotees, Sri Krishna is very pleased by it.
If you are not initiated, then you may sing guruashtakam in glorification of Srila Prabhupada.
Hare Krsna
