Few Questions

Hare Krishna All,

Pamho,

AgtSP!

Recently, I  happen to meet this guy who is a staunch worshipper of durga devi but goes to satsangs of all faith. He told me that all the scriptures whether it may be Hindu, Muslim or any other religion are written by very knowledgeable persons of that time in order to make people follow certain rules that help in proper administration and maintenance of morality, peace and harmony. In order to impose this administration they have attached the name of GOD to it. I know vedas are apurusheya as we consider Vyasadev as literary incarnation of Krishna and the task he performed is humanly difficult, but few questions raised in my brain are as follows.

1. Why no other sampradaya except our sampradaya consider Chaitanya Mahaprabhu as Lord.

2. Why Chaitanya Mahaprabhu did not spread KC movement in the entire world.

3. I know Chaitanya Mahaprabhu told that his commander in chief will come and spread KC all over the world and we witnessed that in the form of Prabhupada, but still being so compassionate why Krishna chose only India and not considered other parts of the world.

4. In all our scriptures , is there any description of animals like Kangaroos, Koalas etc. which are not found in India.

5. How Sanatana dharma that was prevailing entire world lost in due course of time.

6. We quote some scriptures and others quote from other scriptures to prove their point.

7. I assume God cant be partial to only one sect then why so many scriptures.

8. 2+4=6 is the absolute truth and we cant say it is 3 for UKG student and 6 for degree student. In lectures we hear that all the different scriptures are given to different people based on the time, circumstances and power of reception. Are we at the highest level or the chosen one to be told the absolute truth.

9. Why do we have to serve the lord all the time, why kirtan and if that is the sole purpose of our existence why lord gave us so many facilities to enjoy and freewill. Truly speaking everyone wants to enjoy, most of us serve the lord superficially with the fear of not going back to godhead. What kind of pleasure we get in serving the lord, what is wrong in serving the people and the paramatma who is sitting in their heart because I can feel the reciprocation of the person and don't feel any reciprocation from deities (I am speaking about neophytes).

10. It is difficult to digest some of the events that happened in the history mentioned in the scriptures and get doubt did they really happen or it is just a blind belief.

11. What pleasure Krishna gets when we chant his name and what pleasure do we get.

12. To what extent is it correct to label people as Mayavadis, Karmis who are serving the lord in their own way, isn't KC becoming like "My way or no way".

These are some of the questions that my brain puts to myself and push me into confusion. I know these questions are annoying for devotees and some may even get offended, but these are the questions that comes to everyone who is or was part of Hinduism. it would be helpful if some learned devotees throw some light on these questions. Thank you.

    Hare Krsna

What pleasure Krishna gets when we chant his name ?

    That only Krsna knows

What pleasure do we get when we chant his name ?

That varies from person to person. Rupa Gosvami says

    tunde tandavini ratim vitanute tundavali-labdhaye
    karna-kroda-kadambini ghatayate karnaarbudebhyah sprhaam
    cetah-pragana-sangini vijayate sarvendriyanam krtim
no jane janita kiyadbhir amrtaih krsneti varna-dvayi

I do not know how much nectar the two syllables ‘Krsna’ have produced. When the holy name of Krsna is chanted, it appears to dance within the mouth. We then desire many, many mouths. When that name enters the holes of the ears, we desire many millions of ears. And when the holy name dances in the courtyard of the heart, it conquers the activities of the mind, and therefore all the senses become inert.

Now one may say - Honestly I dont have such experiences, Rupa Gosvami talks about this in NOI

    syat krsna-nama-caritadi-sitapy avidya-
    pittopatapta-rasanasya na rocika nu
kintv adarad anudinam khalu saiva justa
    svadvi kramad bhavati tad-gada-mula-hantri

The holy name, character, pastimes and activities of Krsna are all transcendentally sweet like sugar candy. Although the tongue of one afflicted by the jaundice of avidya [ignorance] cannot taste anything sweet, it is wonderful that simply by carefully chanting these sweet names every day, a natural relish awakens within his tongue, and his disease is gradually destroyed at the root.

Krsna consciousness is never my way or no way. Krsna consciousness is Krsna's way always.

    Hare Krsna Aakash prabhu,

    PAMHO.

I agree - too many questions. I will try to answer them randomly without any order.

    1) What pleasure lord gets when we chant His name and what pleasure we get - please chant and experience the pleasure yourself - it cannot be described. Proof of the pudding is in the eating. What pleasure lord gets - have you seen a couple in love - how many times they take each other's name, without any purpose? Or another example is someone calling out his child's name - both child and parent derive pleasure right?

    2) Is it not difficult to digest that an entire aircraft can disappear with 240 people on board for more than a year? Is it not difficult to digest that a person can kill his sister in law's daughter simply on the basis of a minor fight? Is it not difficult to digest that school children may suddenly start firing with guns in any school campus? Are you able to digest everything in the world prabhu? I am not. If you have any specific question, please ask.

    3) How many ways are there to reach your house prabhu? I am sure, more than one. So how can there be only one way to reach God? There are different ways and we respect each recognised authorised way. For eg: 4 sampradayas as stated by the lord - Rudra sampradaya, Sree sampradaya, Brahma sampradaya and Nimbarka sampradaya.

    4) Net net - you need to chant prabhu and you need to read Gita. All your doubts will vanish.

Sorry, not able to address all your questions. Little tied up today.

    Haribol,

    YOur servant,

    Rashmi

  • Phew...so many questions :)

I am wondering what you would do in case you don't get satisfactory answers from this forum?

I see in all these questions there is one underlying question i.e "Who is the real GOD?" You say yours and somebody says theirs :) Then how will you find out what is the truth?

So, I think you should be behind this basic question rather than all those questions. Once you come to know the truth, then all those questions would just fade away from your mind :)

    Regards,

    Subash
