Engaging in as much service as we can handle...

Hare Krishna! Jaya Prabhupada!

Krishna's philosophy is perfect. But we are not perfect. Conditioning and karma are strong and we cannot get rid of them instantly. So even though immediate full surrender is the perfection, should we force ourselves to do so? If I feel the need to learn and surrender gradually, is this my false ego giving excuses? Or is it tolerance and empathy towards my mind that I need to enrol as an ally not make into an enemy?

No & it cannot be done.

Only Krsna or your spiritual master to whom you have transparently submitted can tell this accurately. But it is possibility that false ego is making excuses.

    Hare KRsna Mataji,

    PAMHO.

Surrender is internal mataji, not external. Therefore, it cannot be forced. Surrender transcends karma. It is a journey, not a destination. It can take a moment to surrender to Krsna, or it can take lifetimes. It depends on us.

One should force oneself to follow 4 regulative principles and chant 16 rounds.

  • Hare Krishna,

Nothing happen without the Mercy of Guru and Govind. When time comes everything will fall in its place. But till then it is our duty to keep on chastising the mind and bring it back to Krishna Consciousness. Yes, we may keep failing in this path not easy to be on the track all the time. But we must pull our horses ( senses) to Krishna back all the time and fixing the mind on the lotus feet of Krishna and seeking forgiveness from gurudeva.....whenever we fall down to show us mercy and guide us on the right path again.

Surrender will come gradually... practice makes man perfect. You need to just keep practicing till then.

The Blessed Lord said: O mighty-armed son of Kunti, it is undoubtedly very difficult to curb the restless mind, but it is possible by constant practice and by detachment.
