Does lord Brahma create universe every morning?

Hare Krishna to all the devotees

All glories to srila Prabhupada

One day of Brahma contains 1000 cycles of 4 yugas. And lord Brahma lives 100 years afterwards he dies. So it means after kalki avatar the world is back in satyuga and no annihilation right? And annihilation takes place at the end of day of Brahma (during night no manifestation!?) , so does lord Brahma create universe every morning?

Also does the maha visnu avatar of lord also stays after the death of Brahma? Or krsna expands in maha visnu again when Brahma is to be born again for creating material universe?

  • Hare Krishna,

    1 Kali Yuga = 432,000 years

A day (kalpa) of Brahma =1,000 mahayugas = 4.32 billion human years

That means in one day of Brahma 1000 kaliyugs come and go.

we are currently in the 51st. year of Brahma.

To be more precise we are in the  Kali Yuga of the 28th mahayuga.

So it means 50 yrs of brhama are completed already

and we are right now in the 51st. year.

ya, very first day of the 51st year.  In that very first day ( which last for 1000 cycles- sat, treta drwapar and kali should pass by a thousand times to complete one day)

we completed 28 cycles out of the 1000 cycles.

So, in this Kalpa ( day of the Brahma) which is called as Shewta Varaha Kalpa, we completed 27 times the Mahayugas. Now we are in the 28th Mahayuga.

Now, the 28th Mahayuga ends in Kaliyuga.

Each Mahayuga completion ends in Kaliyuga.  Like that 1000 mahayugas if completed there will be total dissolution a Big Pralay.

After about 71 mahayugas ( that is 71 times cycles ( sat, treta, dwapar and kali come and go).  Then Manvantar happens at end of 71st. Mahayuga. There will be partial dissolution after 71st mahayuga).

As of now we are only in the 28th mahayuga.. it also ends in Kaliyuga but there is no pralay at the end. Just a small shift will be there.

At the end of 1,000 Mahayugas (Brahma’s day), the universe dissolves, and all souls merge into Sri Maha Vishnu's cosmic form until the next creation.

Text 31: Neither material nature nor the soul who tries to enjoy her are ever born, yet living bodies come into being when these two combine, just as bubbles form where water meets the air. And just as rivers merge into the ocean or the nectar from many different flowers blends into honey, so all these conditioned beings eventually merge back into You, the Supreme, along with their various names and qualities. ( SB 10.87.31)

“As rivers flow to their dissolution in the sea, giving up their names and forms at their destination, so the wise man who becomes free from material names and forms attains to the Supreme Absolute, the wonderful Personality of Godhead.” (Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad 3.2.8)

    • Well this is quite an intricate matter, I don't know much about these manvantras and Manus ,etc. This we get from SB right?

Also thankyou for this detailed explanation.

      • Yes in SB everything is there.

The present duration of a kalpa of Brahmā is called the Varāha-kalpa or Śvetavarāha-kalpa because the incarnation of the Lord as Varāha took place during the creation of Brahmā, who was born on the lotus coming out of the abdomen of Viṣṇu. Therefore this Varāha-kalpa is also called Pādma-kalpa, and this is testified by ācāryas like Jīva Gosvāmī as well as Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura in pursuance of the first commentator, Svāmī Śrīdhara. So there is no contradiction between the Varāha and the Pādma-kalpa of Brahmā. ( 2.10. 47)

          • Therefore the thirty kalpas of Brahmā are: (1) Śveta-kalpa, (2) Nīlalohita, (3) Vāmadeva, (4) Gāthāntara, (5) Raurava, (6) Prāṇa, (7) Bṛhat-kalpa, (8) Kandarpa, (9) Sadyotha, (10) Īśāna, (11) Dhyāna, (12) Sārasvata, (13) Udāna, (14) Garuḍa, (15) Kaurma, (16) Nārasiṁha, (17) Samādhi, (18) Āgneya, (19) Viṣṇuja, (20) Saura, (21) Soma-kalpa, (22) Bhāvana, (23) Supuma, (24) Vaikuṇṭha, (25) Arciṣa, (26) Valī-kalpa, (27) Vairāja, (28) Gaurī-kalpa, (29) Māheśvara, (30) Paitṛ-kalpa.

These are Brahmā’s days only, and he has to live months and years up to one hundred, so we can just imagine how many creations there are in kalpas only. Then again there are vikalpas, which are generated by the breathing of Mahā-Viṣṇu, as stated in the Brahma-saṁhitā (yasyaika-niśvasita-kālam athāvalambya jīvanti loma-vilajā jagadaṇḍa-nāthāḥ). The Brahmās live only during the breathing period of Mahā-Viṣṇu. So the exhaling and inhaling of Viṣṇu are mahā-kalpas, and all these are due to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, for no one else is the master of all creations. ( 2.10. 46)
