Hare Krishna !!
I have been facing this Dilemma for a long time now.... thought Krishna would help me choosing a Way out, Hence seeking his devotees suggestions .
My Parents are dead against my marriage to a boy i love. Reason being we are of same Gotra.
After Much study i have learnt even though we are of same gotra, we dont have a family connection for generations ,neither paternal nor maternal. we are not blood related. our ancestral histories wont match too.....
In such a Case should we stop getting married to eachother coz of gotra?
Will Krishna agree to This?
How far we can do justice to the other person of parents choice?
Will this not be Adharma?
Hare Krishna !! Help me to Find a Way.

We read in BG that Arjuna was preaching to Krishna that it is not according to Dharma to kill so many innocent people. And Krishna spoke the whole BG to convince him to fight and kill those people. I am seeing same thing repeating here in your case saying how it is adharma to not marry your loved one. Any ways, coming to the point of Gothras, it is not recommended to marry from the same Gothra. Under unavoidable circumstance, people check for the Gothra-Pravara also. If same Gothra but different pravara, then one can consider marriage. Otherwise it is not advisable. Even Srila Prabhupada confirms this in many places in SB. You can do further reading from here also http://vaniquotes.org/wiki/Gotra

Thanks for the suggestion & the Link..

Hare Krishna Mataji!
Mentally if you have already chosen somebody as your husband , then you should marry him and put your all efforts to convince your parents (that would be a sati dharma).
If your love is pure and true towards someone already chosen by you then marrying with some other person is off-course "adharma"
Rukmini said to her family guru "I have already chosen Krishna as my husband, I would better commit sin by doing suicide rather then marrying someone else (which would be against my sati dharma)."
"Arjun was married to Subhadra(Krishna's sister) though subhadra was arjun's cousin".
That said however these days in kalyug very rare/few people have such pure love to chosen one.
And I have seen more of these love affairs are just temporary attraction/infatuation.
If both of your love is true and pure , Krishna will automatically make arrangements for you. Trust me.
Till then , just wait ,watch and pray to Lord Krishna that your decision should turn out to be a right one. First thing to do is to ask yourself " have you really chosen your boyfriend as your husband mentally"
In kalyug many vedic rules/injunctions should be followed based on time, place and circumstances and not just because vedas say so about gotras.
Good Luck
Hare Krishna.
