This above statement is part of bogus philosophy of mavayada impersonalism. The topmost teaching of Lord Sri Chaitanya, Madhwacarya and other acaryas in Vaishnava parampara is that jiva and bhagavan are distinct entities eternally and can never become one in tattva. To think otherwise is the bogus poisonous impersonal philosophy. We cannot tolerate mayavada philosophy in these vaishnava forums.
Devotion without cause will be artificial
Above statement is complete non-sense. Devotion without cause can be pure devotional service. The following is one of the definitions of pure devotion
sa vai puṁsāṁ paro dharmo
yato bhaktir adhokṣaje
ahaituky apratihatā
yayātmā suprasīdati
The supreme occupation [dharma] for all humanity is that by which men can attain to loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord. Such devotional service must be unmotivated and uninterrupted to completely satisfy the self. ( SB 1.2.6)

We do not need any bogus person pretending to be god here. Jiva can never become god, not in conditioned state or liberated state, not in material world or spiritual world. Please take your monistic mayavada bogus philosophy and leave.
